In winter it gets cold here, in the 10s or 20s in the mornings. I drove to work, but I had a long, warm wool coat, and I wore stockings with regular shoes. I picked up my son from after school care, and so it was cold and dark, and sometimes we went grocery shopping, but it was doable. I definitely wish I had had tall boots. I don't know of a brand that makes for wide feet, though. This website showcases comfortable shoes. I have this thing about going tightsless as long as possible (bc I hate them) so my boot shafts tend to get higher and higher as it gets colder. We have cool weather so above 45 most of the time with very little snow or slush, so I think it should be doable with some tights.</p> <p>The only (and big) challenge is shoes. I am a committed comfortable, wide, flat shoe wearer - think Birkenstocks, sandals etc. I am ok with stumpy. What sort of shoes should I look for?
