So true, but we're still pretty cute to Hubby, right Joy!
If you are measuring 36 than perhaps the 27's will be a good size for you. They do not really stretch out. They loosen up just a tad. When I lose a little bit of weight they still fit, just a bit looser, not much.
I read on another blog, (I think it was alreadypretty.com) that if the seams joining together hurt your girlie parts they are not going to stretch out to fit, pass on that size. If the 26's hurt in any way, while riding in the car or whatever, pass.
If they don't come back up when you stand up, that's not a good sign either. The band should be at a place that allows the jeans to come back up with your body. There are jeans out there that do.
I think maybe you should take a pair of 26's and a pair of 27's home, wear them for a while around the house. You should be able to tell if they are your jeans.
I hate to recommend that because I have received mailorder jeans that someone has worn so much the knees are bagged out and I do not like that. You should know without putting that much stress on the fabric! Also the stores should check the items out better before re-sending. IMO.

I just measured my hips and they are just about 36, so they are like yours. I'm at a higher weight right now which is more what I'd like to be, but my blood sugar is saying I need to weigh less and look gaunt. How true about the hip droop! When I had hips they were not "in style" and I disliked them. If only the songs about "junk in the trunk" referred to a cute thick waist!

My guess, if you are wearing a 2 in another brand you may want to try a 26 in COH. I am wearing the 27 and I wear a 4 in other brands, generouly.
What do your hips measure?
I know how you feel about not wanting to wear tight jeans, but the stretch denim is different, and you really don't want them baggy. I think snug is good.
My hips measure 35 to 36. The 36 is getting lower and lower as I age! HaHa!

I'm finally ready to invest in premium denim, but which one?? Yesterday I went to Nordstroms and tried on the CoH Ambers and another with the same rise as the Elsons, which were not there in my size. I can't decide which would be best on my 60+ rectangle body, although I like the darker color of the Elsons.
Also, I take a 27 in Lucky dungarees and that is the size that the clerk thought I should get. The 27 seems like a good fit in the CoHs, but should I go with a 26? Do they really stretch out that much? I feel too old to wear my jeans very tight but don't want them baggy either. I'm wearing size 2 in Kut's. (btw, are Kut's considered premium denim?)
Should I be trying something other than CoH? David Khans were not anything special on me. I want a dark wash with no fading.
