It was hard for him to get to school, band and theater rehearsals, and ballgames without his own vehicle and he needed high clearance for their bad road. He drove that car until he went away to college, and then his younger brother drove it for ten more years! That vehicle owed us NOTHING, LOL. Best deal ever. If looked after they never give up. My DH just went to South Africa and sold ours that is a 98 model and I bought in 2000. Difficult to let her go. I own one here as well as although not in as good condition as the other one. I had a succession of Priuses for many years and loved them too. I’ve always liked that kind of bright blue for a car — it’s just distinctive enough. I think it’s good for visibility without being fire-engine red, you know? My car is now 8 years old and 88k miles on it, and I still love it. It would be nice to have some of the new safety features of the newer models (the exterior cameras have gotten so good now), but I’m happy driving a car for years and years. This was my sort of practical splurge — something that drives like a sports car but can fit my bike or a lot of gear in the back! To get the kind of house we have now with waterfront would be $$$$$!). So your observation is pretty apt. we had some good times there (pics from the community beach, just steps away from our front door). My parents bought that little beach cottage when I was 11, and I sold it last year. I lived in it for almost ten years, and we got married in the backyard. It was really emotional to let it go, but the settlement was exactly a year ago and I have no regrets! Wearing my altered (sleeves shortened) blue tie-waist tee-shirt dress. </p> <p>I decided to play it down casually with flat cognac and white Rag &amp; Bone sandals (not seen in the pics), a fabric tote (a freebie that comes with purchase from Freda Salvador, a brand I love!), and a cord, wood, and shell necklace my husband bought me on a whim in Barcelona, 16 years ago! Worn for a day of errands (a dress makes for a quick change after Pilates). It’s a mix of neutrals with the blue dress, which I think helps casualize the outfit more than being matchy-matchy, but it all seems to “go”, even my sunglasses!</p> <p>Funny that even my current phone case is blue! And my blue car in pic 3. Yes, I do love this color. LOL </p>
