I have many blazers - my favorite wardrobe category (besides accessories). I am not sure of the exact number across seasons, some are in holding zone. But it is definitely more than 20, including those that are a part of a suit. Some are over 10 years old.<br /> I am thrilled over the current fashion - it includes so many different silhouettes, cuts of jackets and references from passed fashion eras. More than ever before, it feels like anything goes…. Unusual combinations and very individual remixes are on trend. I hope it will remain like this. It gives some older blazers new life.<br /> I don’t purge blazers which are good quality, fit or close to fit me and are in good condition. As I have many, and as they are mostly of good quality, they get seldom worn out. So they stay :-)<br /> The challenge is storage. I had to decide, whether I am willing to prioritize a larger wardrobe over other things, and to put the work into keeping it organized and neat. So far, it is what I want and can do.<br /> And this: when I get the idea to purge a good blazer because I think it looks a bit dated, I ask myself if I would buy it in a thrift store, if it would appear there right now…. Most of the cobalt I have is royal blue - a little bit lighter and softer. Here are three outfits inspired by Angie’s great outfit formulas.</p> <p>The first one is inspired by the cobalt with black and dark denim. I don’t have a pair of dark blue jeans, so I used a pair of black jeans (Escada). Black merino V-neck (Ilse Jacobsen), royal blue satin blazer (Escada) and semi polished black Chelsea boots (Tod’s). The necklace is a thrift store find. The sunglasses are from Missoni. None of the items are particularly new, some are really old workhorses (the boots and the blazer are more than 6 years old, the boots are the best quality I have owned so far). I tried to put together a little bit more modern outfit than I normally do. No scarf. A sweater and jeans instead of a blouse and trousers…. I liked this outfit. To me, it feels new. I will wear it as a casual blazer outfit.</p> <p>The second outfit has the same column of black - base of sweater, jeans and boots. I added a grey blazer (also older Escada favorite) and a large silk royal blue scarf (Escada, about 2 years old). This is my version of Angie’s single cobalt accessory outfit. But then, I added a royal blue bag as well. </p> <p>The third outfit consists of a navy blue jersey blazer (Escada, about 10 years old), a pair of knitted navy trousers (Marc Aurel), cognac boots (Tod’s, same as the black pair above) and a silk patterned scarf containing royal blue (travel souvenir, 15 years old). This is my version of Angie’s cobalt in pattern outfit. Then I added a royal blue bag here as well. This outfit is the most traditionally “me” outfit - my regular formula.</p> <p>What do you think? Feedback, styling tips and suggestions, ideas and whatever comes to mind are much appreciated. </p>
