Vildy, what is a street length raincoat?
Una, yeah I have to figure out white balance. Part of the problem is I'm shooting indoors with no flash (so it doesn't reflect in the mirror) and that throws the colors off.
Amy, the shoes are Chie Miharas from Anthro, and I posted about them in my other thread:

I love the cape and the faux leopard. I'd definitely return the Mackage. It doesn't do you justice.

As for the cape, it didn't work with your skirt because of volume issues, but it looks awesome with those pants!

Ooh, and I LOVE those shoes. Wherever did you find them?

Okay, I'm going to be honest here. Unless your lighting is really throwing things off, I don't like the camel/tans on you. They look close enough to your skin color to wash you out, compared to the brights that make you glow. There's a reason we're drawn to certain colors, and while I admire your motivation to branch into neutrals, these coats are big items and I think color matters... have you done the white balance thing with your camera? If not, ask Aida - it may help show if the color is off here and I'm off-base.

Otherwise, I love the Mackage coat - I saw it in black - but it is a difficult coat to wear. The cape is not useful as a long-term item IMHO (that's why I bought a cheap one) but it looks wonderful. Of the two fur coats, I prefer the darker one on you. The red raincoat is great, and if qualifies as gear and is not a repeat of your other Anthro coat, keep it. It does not seem like a replacement for a true gear (hiking/camping) item like an REI windbreaker, though.

Between the Mackage coat and HB cape, keep the cape. I like it on you a lot. You can do much better than the Mackage, so I vote return that one. I love the two jackets in 10-15; you've done a great job styling the Neiman Marcus one! Keep both if you can use them. I'm meh on the raincoat.

Me, I like the cape on you. I think the coat has too much going on and it's trying to have its way with you.

I'm confused about the raincoat. I would call it a parka. How about trying a bombshell
street length raincoat instead?

1/2/3 and 4/5/6 are the same Mackage coat...it looks more wrinkled in the second set because it spent all day crumpled up on my car seat instead of hanging up (I only wore it for the pics then tossed it in my car since it still was fairly warm here and I hadn't decided to keep it yet). I'm surprised how easily it wrinkles actually, maybe because it is thin/unlined? It looks so crisp and perfect in 7 but not so much in real life. :(
Oh and Angie, it is actually camel colored, but I guess the color didn't come out right in my pictures. It's a little bit darker camel than the cape. Yeah, I think this one is too tight. I'm waiting for the S to arrive so I will see how that fits before giving up on this coat style. Still crying that it doesn't look like the catalog pic on me. ;-)

8/9 is the same Helene Berman cape that I've posted for you guys before...which I've also only worn just for pictures actually. I've been waiting for this Mackage coat to arrive for a while (it's been backordered) so I kept the tags on the cape so I could compare the two and decide which one to keep. Also I was a little afraid to keep the cape because it's gotten mixed reviews here...some of you love it, some of you think the color is wrong or it's too big for me (even though it's an XS) or doesn't work with my skirts.

Rae, I don't think I can size down on the rain coat because the arms fit just right now and if I size down to XS the arms will be too tight (the reviews all said the same thing, that the arms are too small for the body of the jacket). Plus it's sold out online and I'd have to call around. I'll give it a try and see if I can find a smaller one though.

I couldn't see the fit of the Mackage coat on the other thread, but now that I see it properly, you definitely need to size up. I commented on the colour on the other thread - not sure about that.

Love the cape! It's the perfect shade of camel and I know it well.

Not wild about the ill fitting rain coat. I vote return.

Both faux fur jackets look lovely!

As much as I LOOOOOVE the Mackage coat, that brand is too expensive to give you the illusion of a third nipple. And you have enough capes already, so I vote to keep looking for another camel coat that is as unique as the Mackage but behaves well.

Opting out of fur jacket conversation, as I am too biased.

The rain coat is adorable, but can you size down?

I LOVE the tawny faux fur in #10!!! Suits you to a tee. Glam glam glam. I like the red raincoat too, what a cute lining and the color is fab.

I'm meh on the others, but I live in a warm climate so I'm not a coat expert.

I'd keep the raincoat and the faux fur leopard and return the rest. The camel coat does not fit you very well, and I think the style and colour of the short faux fur are not very flattering. I have a ? about the cape though - is this another camel cape or the same one you've been wearing in other posts. If it is a second one, then I'd say return it, even though it looks very nice on you.

Natalie #1 is a stunning coat but I'm a bit conflicted. I don't like it with the skirt, but I quite like it with the red jeans. In the pics with the jeans is it just out of the packaging? It looks very creased and no where near as impressive as in #7?? I note it's not lined...that would be a deal breaker for me.

I like#8/9.

#10 is to die for. Love it on you. Could see it dressed up and down :)

#13 doesn't work for me;(. It could be the skirt that is throwing me off, but I just don't think it's anywhere near as fab as #10.

Rain coat is very cute.

Somehow I ended up with a bunch of new coats! I need a coat intervention! ;-)

Battle of the camel coats:
1-7. Nordstrom Mackage Tessa in camel. I was obsessed with this coat when I saw it in the NAS catalog, but it was sold out. Now they finally have it again for the NAS price! I ordered both XS and S. I'm wearing the XS--the S is backordered and won't get here for another couple weeks. When I first saw it, I thought it looked like the coolest coat ever. But now that it's here, I'm not sure whether it looks good on me and have a few nitpicky issues with it. First, the coat is unlined, so it may not be quite as warm as a more heavy duty coat, and is slightly itchy if wearing short sleeves. Second (I don't know if you can see it, maybe I'm being too sensitive), there is a hidden inside button on the left side, but since the coat is kind of thin, the back of the button sticks out a bit and looks like my nipple is showing (see #4). Ack! Also, is the collar OK or is it too big for me? I like how much more fitted it looks compared to the cape, but I'm not 100% sold on it yet. Also, to me, the back looks a little tight/wrinkled so I think I will need to size up to a small for more room. Hopefully some of these issues will resolve if I move up to a small. What do you think? I'm a little disappointed it doesn't look quite as nice on me as on the model (#7), but maybe it's because I don't have my SexyFace on? ;-)
8-9. Helene Berman XS camel cape for comparison...trying to decide which one to keep. Bought this full price at Nordstrom but then got a $100 price adjustment when it went on sale. Haven't really used it IRL except to take a few K/R and WIW pictures, so it's potentially returnable if I decide to keep the Tessa. Which do you prefer, the Mackage which is more fitted, or the Helene Berman cape? I know some of you previously had complained that the cape was too much volume on top of my midi skirts, so is the Mackage a better choice then?

Faux Furries:
These two were the winners of my earlier faux fur vest/coat marathon try-on session and the ones that actually came home with me. The vests just weren't me, I think these retro-inspired coats are more in line with my bombshell style.
10-12. Macy's INC faux fur leopard coat in S. I got this 20% off.
13-15. Robbi & Nikki cropped faux fur coat in S. I got this 30% off at Neiman Marcus. The brooch pins came with it and are removable. Does this work over the tucked-in blouse with the midi skirt? Any other ideas for styling this coat?

Red Raincoat:
16-20. I know, I know...I already have a fabulous red trench coat. And yes, they are both the same tomato red. But I don't have a true raincoat other than my 15 year old REI thin windbreaker that has lost its waterproof coating and a big bulky Colombia ski parka, which isn't something I could wear to work and is too warm anyways.

So I really wanted to get a stylish raincoat I could wear to work or for MOTG. I found this one at Anthropologie, freshly marked down 50% on sale. It's called the Heritage Raincoat by Daughters of the Liberation. The coat fabric is waxed cotton by a British company called Millerain and is completely waterproof. The sleeves are very fitted to keep water out. It comes in red with a warm fleece butterfly lining and yellow with a navy and white polka dot lining. I thought about getting the yellow just so it would be different from my red trench, but the red just looked so much better on me (the yellow is more bright yellow and I think I look better in warm muted yellows like mustard). Plus, the secret butterflies...I couldn't resist! It is long enough in back to protect you from getting wet if you sit down, and has a big hood. It's a size S and is pretty roomy in the body, but the arms are just right so if I sized down to an XS the arms would be too tight (all the reviews agreed). But it does have a belt to cinch in the waist. It's a true rain coat and is shorter, bulkier and more casual looking than my red corset trench so I hope you'll agree they both have a place in my closet, right? This coat has been getting great reviews so it rapidly sold out the day it was posted on sale--it's a hot commodity!

Let me know whether these coats are keepers or not!
