I really wasn’t sure of the fit. I don’t like tight and I don’t think the size down would have fit in the waist. As it is, I sized down a couple sizes. The NYDJ measurement chart is accurate for me though. I will check out the current model although I read lots of reviews about stretching out and rarely have that problem (Gap comes to mind.) I got a long sweater to go with them. I have to say they are the most comfortable pants I've ever put on. Washable too. I hiked up the sweater to show the waist fit--I would never wear anything tucked into these.
