Antje, I noticed that Bluefly had a bunch of S and K jackets today. But I was under the impression that the sleeves on those jackets are narrow. I have "healthy" arms...so I assumed I couldn't wear that designer.

Thumbs up for trenches. I got my first one last fall and now I can't imagine life without it anymore! Are you going to check out the Soia and Kyo ones? (Nordies carries some styles). You won't be disappointed! A very good investment, practical and super stylish. http://www.soiakyo.com/

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I knew the suede coat was going to be the biggest loser. I'm surprised and happy that the olive bomber jacket is a keeper though. It's very warm and my favorite casual jacket.

I don't have much need for a long parker--I'm honestly not a big fan of long puffer style coats. If it's THAT cold outside, I'll wear pants. The black rose parka was originally purchased as a snowboarding jacket--but it's too short to keep the snow out. So I have a different shell for that activity--which I didn't even bother posting.

I did order the black and white sweater coat from Macys--so maybe that will work as a fall coat. I can see about having the sleeves shortened on the long black coat. You can't see it in the photo, but that coat has a tonal design--kind of scrolly, not quite florally. It reminds me of a brocade, except it's all one color. So I guess I will keeping my eye out for a mid weight trench now. And a colorful version of my black pea coat. And a canvas unlined jacket that will take the place of my denim jacket that was not flattering.

Thanks again everyone!

A huge effort Nicole. Thanks for posting pics. Here’s my two cents:

o	Suede jacket doesn’t fit so I vote pass on. This style is too conservative for Nicole. Great spot cardi!

o	Long black coat looks OK. Good length and shape. But it’s very long in the sleeve and falls off the shoulder. Are you petite in sleeve length?

o	Black pea-coat is sweet. Nice fit. Excellent revere collar for your body type. Keep.

o	Olive bomber – adorable. Keep. You look GREAT in this colour.

o	Polar fleece gear tops fit well . Nice happy colours – for snowboarding, ball games and lounging only, right?

o	Black rose parka – sweet for sporting activities. Keep.

I see many coat holes! Trench, false plain wool coat and LONG parka. Not to mention lighter Autumn jackets. You're going to have fun shopping

The only one that is so big as to be unflattering is the suede. I really liked the color of the orange w/hot pink lining on you. You glow. I'm not a big fan of the print on the last jacket but it's OK.

Hi Nicole,

I really, really like the bomber jacket on you. The color and the fit are great.

The suede jacket is definitely too big in my opinion.

Both black coats are OK, they might be a bit loose, but I can not say for sure.

The sporty ones are good for their purpose, I think. I may go for a new one in a great color and more fitted shape.

Hi Nicole,

You're right - the suede coat does look too big. The bomber jacket is great! Both the pea coat and the black dress coat look a bit big to me, but it's hard to tell for sure from that far away.

And while I also need and have a collection of casual coats/jackets here in freezing Canada where we do lots of outdoor activites, I personally feel that you can do better in this department than those fleeces. They really don't flatter a lot. For example, I have a fitted grey fleece which accomplishes the same purpose but lends itself in colour and cut to being dressed up with scarves, etc.

I know it's so hard to build a great coat collection! It's so expensive. I have over 5 coats for really cold weather alone, not to mention jackets, blazers, and trenches! Ottawa has such a variety of intense weather. Grr...

Hi Nicole,

Here are my thoughts:
Suede fall jacket: great color, looks too big
Dress coat: love!
wool pea coat: looks great on you!
green bomber: good for really casual
Not crazy about either fleece although I like the orange color better on you, the pale blue seems too blah for your skin tone and hair color
lastjacket: not crazy about, but could be fun for casual,

Hi Nicole, I love your olive bomber! So cute!

I'd let the suede jacket go. It looks big overall and a bit boxy.

I like the black dress coat a lot although it might also be a tad big, but not as much as the suede jacket.

I'm also not crazy about the black nylon parka with the print, somehow it looks a bit sporty and "young" (not that I'm saying you are old - pleeze don't take offense), I'm not sure how to express it better.

The black pea coat is great and looks very versatile.

I understand the need for the fleece and the goretex, and they look just fine, so keep those.

And again, love that olive bomber

I need to go through a similar exercise one of these days...

Suede coat - looks a bit big in the shoulders.
Black longer coat - I can't see the details and fit around the shoulders, could it be a little too big? In the pic the shoulders look bigger compared to the pea coat. Looks nice otherwise.
Black pea coat - looks great!
Olive bomber - nice.
Orange fleece, black nylon, blue goretex - they are probably too sporty in Angie's book. I personally am not too crazy about orange. One thing I've been thinking about lately is how this length of jackets is limiting, especially with current longer tops trend. Living in Seattle I could definitely see the need for weatherproof (and sporty) coats, but I wonder if something mid-thigh length would work better. Just a thought.

I've been tempted to buy some coats and or jackets lately, and I decided I better take inventory before I do. I did not take photos of the gear jackets that I wear for winter sports. Let me know which ones are worth keeping, which ones have seen better days, and what I should be looking for in replacements.

Some of these coats are for fall use only (the suede jacket & the orange fleece are strictly fall coats and the light blue goretex is for cold fall/mild winter days). I think the suede jacket is too big (I was a bit heavier when I bought it). I realize some of these jackets are very casual and sporty, but I definitely have a need for casual jackets as well as nicer ones. Thanks for any feedback...
