Aw, thanks. I guess I am finally reaping rewards of working out my needs and planning my wardrobe better.
Tex, it is a relief to not have to deal with those troublesome items. When you finally kick them to the curb, and don't let more in, things start to become a lot easier. :)

Good job Mo! The first two outfits are fantastic for you and you not only have been making good choices, you've been teaching others here. I've been focusing on the same - only keeping items that are truly right in fit, style, color and feeling. It was liberating to me to get rid of the last few pairs of jeans/pants that weren't working and just taking up space. I still may not get to wear my cool weather items as much as I'd like so either those need to be truly classic (or at least lasting) in style or they have to feel worth the CPW to only wear a few times.

I laughed at your comment on Angie's blog post, about calling it your "turkey" dress. I have a dress with similar pockets. Mine might be more duck-sized.

You look great in 1 and 2 -- illustrating why it's so important not to settle. The stuff that works well, just works. Good for you for holding the line. What Gigi said, too. Once you have a core wardrobe, there's really no reason to accept second best. You can afford to exercise PPP.

I agree with Caro. It's tough not to settle! But I think that once a person has a core wardrobe, settling should really no longer be necessary unless you're stuck having to attend some kind of event that you really don't have the right clothing for. Otherwise you just continue to accumulate "so-so" items that routinely get skipped over in favor of the fab ones.

I'm glad you got the alteration fixed!

This weekend I didn't take any WIW pics. I did dress for going out into the world, which I normally will post, but I'd worn the outfits before, so you've seen them. (old pics below) One fun thing, the dress I did not wear yesterday when BF voiced preference for shorts instead, I did wear today to grocery shop and lounge, just for me :) It was doubly fun that it was quite windy and the big billowing flowing pockets danced in the breeze.
Also I sent back, and/or immediately sent out to Twice for reselling, items that in the past I may have let into the closet even though I knew they weren't wowing me.
One was a $13 eBay try. At the $10 range I will still bite on nonreturnable things. These were NWT silk shorts so I imagine resell will be decent at least. In the past, I'd think hey at that price, I may as well just try them. But something in me clicked and said, no, they're not moving me forward.
The others were white shorts that technically fit, but really would be better sized up. Instead of the bird in the hand thinking, I boxed them back up and am awaiting the exchange process in the mail. Patience for a better fit.
So anyway, I'm happier in the items I do have to wear and happy to not be letting questionable ones in to muddy the waters back up!
Oh, and I did get to take the blue blouse back in person to Nordies since we went to see a friend on Sunday who moved to the St. Pete area. Felt good, again, that I didn't just let the mediocre alteration go, but got it fixed. Yay.
