I'm lucky to spend about $1000 a year. I think last year I spent only about $500, with a few gift certificates and gifts of clothes. </p> <p>I don't have kids, but I have a strong feeling on clothing, none-the-less. I feel like children who are 12 and under should only get their clothing from second-hand stores except for special occasion clothes. I couldn't imagine buying clothing for my children if they will grow out of it in 6 months. Around here, there are great used-clothing shops that sell as good as new clothing. This amount would be shared among all members of the family living off that income. Obviously this depends on your lifestyle and finances. So if you're willing to share, given your particular lifestyle (or somebody else's if you prefer) what do you think is a reasonable clothing budget for the year? I'd also be interested in hearing how much you think is a reasonable amount to spend on your kids. </p>
