Tailoring can help a lot; also, finding what brands and cuts work for you. Where/what have you tried already? If you share more about that, where you are, and your budget range, we can give more targeted advice.

The best thing I learned from the tv show what not to wear is thst very few of us can get the perfect fit straight from the rack. My advice is the buy for the best fit on the thigh and tailor, a good one will be able to take in the leg as needed. And I second colette's suggestion of trying petite tops....you may need to order on line, but for example many BR, Jcrew and anthro styles are offer in petites.

cheyrocks1 I have similar problems w/ pants fit in particular -- I'm a cyclist and backpacker. Most pants that fit my waist properly are way too tight in the hips and/or calves. You may want to invest in tailoring, but even that is no guarantee, I've found.

Also, check out Barbell Denim: http://barbellapparel.com/coll.....fgodyXUBcA

I have the hardest time finding clothes that fit and look good on me. I have very weird body proportions. My ankles and calves are thin, and my thighs and booty are propionately much larger. (I am a runner). I like to wear skinny jeans but find they are either too tight on my thighs or drown out my lower leg, I also have a very disproportionate leg to torso measurement. I'm 5'5'' and my legs (from ground to top of hip bone) is 42 inches long. Most tops are too long, and crop tops are hardly crop tops on me. Any advice?
