Yay! Thanks, all. I'm wearing this outfit today. I don't think I've worn this skirt in at least three years! Next time I'll try it with my new denim jacket.

Beautiful - and I think it looks great with the teal cardigan. I love Tanya's idea to try it too with boots and a denim jacket.

I love the skirt and think the length works, though it could be a tad shorter, too, which would add to the flirtiness. I have a few floaty skirts, which I love. In fact I wore one today with a belted cardigan, opaque tights and booties. I enjoy the contrast of a floaty skirt with a sweater and tights, or perhaps a jean or leather jacket. The skirt is tres flattering--have fun with it.

It's a gorgeous outfit just as is and very flattering.

You could really dress it down with tights/boots, simple knitted top in cream and cheeky little jacket such as denim or leather in a brown shade. I actually like the contrast of skirts/dresses in floaty material and boots with self-patterned tights.

I really like this outfit and I think the cardi totally works with the skirt! Add a necklace and I think you are good to go! You could pair it with a cami & jean jacket/cropped cardi & sandals in the summer too.

I saw this post when you first posted it, but I was at work and couldn't see the pic. Then I forgot to look it up when I got home. I do that all the time! :-/

Anyway, I really like this outfit! I don't think the O-ring is a bulls-eye to anything! I think the whole outfit is really flattering.

I like it too - very put together and polished! I think I understand the contrast between floaty fabric vs. richer colors/sweaters/tights/etc. But this looks like a nice transitional outfit for spring.

Is the new sweater a fine gauge knit and/or a non-wooly yarn because then it isn't just a winter sweater. You could also look into a cream cami to lighten the effect. or is there even a color from the spring pallete that would work?

I like the bit of skin at the knee - keeps it from looking wintery. I think wearing boots in the spring/summer is a bit foreign and takes some getting used to.

I think I need a new brown belt, though. That O-ring is like a giant bull's-eye pointing at my postpartum belly!

Tricia- I noticed this photo in your album a few days ago and really liked the outfit. It's a beautiful skirt, and apparantly hemlines are going to drop for spring so that should be fine. I know what you mean about sheer floaty fabric-- in the pic it looks great, but I honestly don't know what I'd say in person. How did you feel wearing it? Or did you wear it?

I liked it with the belt. It struck me immediately as a very smart, put together outfit.

I bought this skirt ages ago...maybe four autumns ago? The lighting's not so great here, but it's chiffon (georgette? something like that) with a brown, teal, peacock blue and cream paisley pattern. At the time, I bought a cream ruffled cardigan to go with it, and wore it that way a few times, but the cardigan pilled up really quickly and I never could figure out what else would go with the skirt.

I just bought a new cardigan and noticed it's the same shade of teal as in the skirt, so I tried it with the orphan skirt, a brown cami, brown tights and brown boots.

http://picasaweb.google.com/Go.....9585462130

A couple of things I'm not sure about:

- skirt length. I bought this at Petite Sophisticate, so I was surprised to see when I put it on that it was longer than I remembered. I'm not sure it's a good length for me.

- This was an autumn skirt, but one thing that's given me trouble with it is that it's so sheer and floaty, it doesn't seem to go with heavier tops or tights or boots. What do you think?

- belt or no belt?

- What else could I pair this skirt with, if it's a keeper?
