Good for you for passing along those worn out pieces, and for taking care of your feet!

I’ve had that experience too of trying to make a garment work even though one element was off (tight sleeves, etc.). Great job recognizing and culling those pieces!

To add to the blanket scarves discussion, I’ve seen people recommend cutting them in half on the diagonal (square into two triangles)

Hey Chris, I do the same thing with scarves! I often cut them so they aren't as wide and they work much better for me. I have a short neck to it makes less bulk. The blanket scarves are hard though, so much thick fabric.

Barbara Diane I have cut huge scarves in half lengthwise to reduce the overall volume. I’m super short AND short waisted so there is not a lot of “real estate “ at the top of my chest, and today’s huge scarves just feel like a huge and annoying pile of fabric. I’ve done it with lighter weight scarves but I’m sure it would work with some heavy ones. The only trick is to hand hem the raw edge if needed or pull threads to make fringe if that works. This is for longish rectangular scarves you’d wear wrapped around your neck, have never tried it with a big square.

Great job culling.

Ok, wondering if anyone cuts blanket scarves into a more useful for you size/shape?

Helpful to read. I have culled out shoes that I thought I would have for perhaps many more years, because my feet seem to have changed, and the shoes are no longer comfortable.

I see I should have proofread. Pilled. Not pulled.
Too tight. Not too short.
I hate autocorrect.

I love seeing that people are posting their “whys” — for me and anyone else who gets something from it!

Your reasonings are all solid. And instructive — I should get rid of the sandals that gave me a horrible blister, shouldn’t i?

I've attached finds that went buh-bye

1) blue sneakers. I had to re-evaluate the shoe situation, because I was still having a bit of trouble with the funky toes getting blisters.
2 & 3) stained. Had to go.
4) the funky toes strike again LOL
5) these shorts were pulled. Nope.
6) blanket scarf, too blanket, could not figure out how to wear it
7) I'm over burgundy, bye-bye
8) the sleeves were too short. Nope.
9) pulled and just generally gross
10) I never reached for it, even though I hypothetically love it. I mean, I had it custom made in short sleeves
11) I loved this top, but the sleeves were too tight. It had to go

There was a lot that hadn't been added to finds, but I figured this was a good start for Janet's reading enjoyment XOXOXOXO
