Oops, sorry Nicole! I missed your posting until now. :)

I think I might agree with you on the green fair isle sweater. I mean, I like it, but I have a lot of other stuff that I'm a lot more excited about wearing (not to mention that I will probably be picking up some more Austin appropriate sweaters this year, too). I'm thinking that I will probably end up with it just hanging in my closet and always choosing to wear something else, so I will probably just get rid of it.

Brendan's makeover is going okay. We measured him, and he's actually a 47" waist, not 44" now. He can fit into 44s but they are very tight. This has sort of posed a problem because it's hard to find any bottoms for him that aren't styled like circus tents (size 48 high waisted, tapered leg jeans? What are men's stores thinking?). Anyway, we did get him some new tops a couple of days ago because he is going to be starting a new job on September 8th (same industry, just a different company). Dress code is still ultra casual (ie nonexistent), but he'll be in a position of more responsibility and possibly leadership in the future, so he wanted to have some more "plain" and collared things to wear (vs. t-shirts with sayings on them). We did get him some plain t-shirts, but we also got him some short sleeved collared button ups to layer over them. And we got 3 polo shirts. It's kind of a big step for him, since he hasn't worn polo shirts or button ups since high school. We just got them at Old Navy, because he wasn't convinced he should spend a lot of money on clothes right now, or even that he would really like the style, but I think once he gets used to it, we'll order some tops from BR and J. Crew (they sometimes carry 2X on their websites). Nice jeans and stuff will have to wait until he's lost some weight (he's down almost 10 pounds already). I think the not fitting into 44s anymore kind of discouraged him, and he doesn't want to look for pants until he can fit into something nicer than "Big Dog" jeans.

We looked for sandals too, but it's not really sandal season anymore, so we'll probably wait until next year. I am going to see if I can get him into a pair of Converse (they might be too narrow for his feet).

You will make someone very happy to find those sweaters at the thrift shop. Good for you.
I can see that you have refined your style. They are still really pretty for the right person.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Angie, I will definitely still post on here. Actually, I'll probably post more often because I'll be on a more regular schedule and at school all day (it's been a crazy few weeks). I'll need lots of study breaks, too (hee hee), so I'll definitely be on the boards. You shant be rid of me that easily (mu ha ha).

San, I sort of went through a phase where I was really into Boho stuff (I'm not sure why, maybe because I tended toward "classic" styling even in high school, so I wanted to be different for awhile). I don't think that's really my style anymore, so I probably wouldn't wear the sweaters. I don't think they're hideous or anything, they just don't go with my wardrobe anymore. I'll give them to charity and maybe someone else will find good use for them.

I like all the things you are going to keep. You know what would be cute with that greyhound crest sweater? A blazer--like a prep school blazer.

I like the argyle sweater, the vest a little less, but I can see a need for both. (I love argyle, but I look like a fat cow in it). I like an untucked shirt with the shirt tails hanging out for a bit of an 80's throw back preppy look with argyle sweaters.

I have mixed feelings on the green sweater. I've never been a big fan of that fair isle kind of pattern...so that's just a personal preference. The fisherman knit one isn't flattering and you have so many other flattering pieces--no sense in wasting valuable closet space!

The last sweaters are quite funkadelic, huh? I was surprised to see them, to be honest. Keep the belt. You never know when it will come in handy!

Boy I'm tired just from looking at all your photos.

Hey how is Brendan's makeover coming?

Ana, I agree with the others...you seem to have it all sorted and I agree with your categories. I really like the greyhound sweater and can see you working it into your style very well (much like you did with the J Crew tee shirt). I think the belt on the last sweater could be very useful so if you have the room, I'd keep it too.

Ana I have to say that you looked pretty good before coming to YLF! But I know that you'll look absolutely fabulous after the cleanout, I've seen it. :)

All the keepers are great. I love the greyhound top and wearing it with a shirt would be great. The argyles are fabulous! I want to get one myself. Are you going to wear them with a shirt peeking out underneath? They look a tad short to me. The Green cowl neck one looks long enough for pants, it's adorable.

Those lounge wear are super nice, especially the white one, I'd wear it to picnic or hiking instead of just wearing them indoor.

I agree with you to get rid of those sweaters. I'd keep the belt, it's great over a shirt dress IMO.

Great effort and I should do the same to my pre YLF stuff.

Wow Ana, what an effort! I was actually planning to do something similar too, though I have many more things to go trough than you. I also joined YLF around the same time you did:)

I have to say that I basically agree with all the choices you have made. I love both argyle and the green cowlneck sweater. I am personally not a fan of the crest one, but I completely understand why you like it, and I like the idea of how you plan to wear it, which is why it gets thumbs up too.

I also completely agree on both sweaters kept for loungewear and both for donation. I would keep the belt form the second one, it would look nice over many things.

The sweaters you are not sure about: I'd keep the first one, looks lovely on you. The second one I'd get rid off, I don't like what it does to your shoulders

Hi Everyone!

I am cleaning out my closet and getting all my winter clothing ready because I won't have much time to after school starts. I first came to YLF last spring around March, so all these items are pre-YLF. There were some things I knew instantly wouldn't work in my wardrobe, but there are a few things I still really like, and I think would be okay. I was hoping I could get some help from you all with either confirming my decision, or else telling me I'm crazy. Please feel free to use CRS if you would like, or just comment. Okay, here goes.

Things I want to keep and work into my regular wardrobe:

Greyhound Crest Sweater: I like the simple, kind of sporty lines of this sweater, and of course the Greyhound on the crest makes it extra special for me. I know it's fairly casual--I was thinking maybe I could wear it over a button up shirt with some white or cream skinnies and red ballet flats (or my red Converse)?
http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0853-1.jpg

Rhubarb Argyle Cardigan:
http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0876-1.jpg

Argyle Sweater Vest:
http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0879-1.jpg

Green Cowl Neck Sweater: I would probably wear this with a skirt (sorry about the muffin top--my jeans are kind of tight today).
http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0859-1.jpg

Stuff I'm keeping for loungewear:

Shawl Collar Sweatshirts: I actually used to wear these as part of my regular clothing (I layered them over a ruffly blouse so the ruffles stuck out), but I think they might be too casual now.

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0866-1.jpg
http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0867-1.jpg

Green Hooded Sweater: My FAVORITE sweater from last year, I wore it all the time. I think the hood makes it too casual for everyday wear now, though. What do you all think?

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0851-1.jpg
http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0852-1.jpg

Stuff I'm not sure about:

Green Button Up Sweater: I like this sweater, and I was thinking if you all said to keep it, I would wear it with a skirt (I could never figure out why it didn't "work" before I came to YLF--now I know it's too short):

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0875-1.jpg
http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0874-1.jpg

Fisherman Sweater: I really liked this sweater last year and wore it alot. I think maybe it's not flattering now, though:
http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0870-1.jpg

Just for fun--Stuff I'm getting rid of:

I actually wore both these sweaters a lot last year, but now they completely don't jive with my style, so they're going to charity/consignment. What do you all think of the ruffly belt on the second sweater? I'm not sure what to do with it--keep it or just get rid of it?

http://i66.photobucket.com/alb.....0864-1.jpg
