chrisiteanne they were M&S limited collection trousers which I got about 3 years ago sadly they don't make them still, though it may be worth checking out their other stuff, my skinnies are from the same line and both they and the trousers I threw are lower rise meaning I didn't have to get them alterered x

I am so glad you shared the before and after pics with us - it's always inspiring to hear about closet purges for some reason.
Good for you in tossing the worn trousers even though you don't have a backup pair. Do they still make the same brand you tossed? Might be a place to start looking.

JennyAnn I kinda already knew what was going as I'd put it all to the right side of the wardrobe ages ago I just hadn't plucked up the courage to finally do away with them but I haven't worn any of it since I'd moved it so i figured it was time to let go. Now I just have to pluck up the courage to take it to the charity shop!! I may just bag it up and leave it in the spare bedroom for a couple of months just incase I need to give anything a reprieve x

lyn* I did go forth and shop this afternoon, didn't really fill any wardroble holes though :-(I got another wrap dress like the navy one but a flower pattern and somemore sleepwear becuase M&S have secret support tops in again)

ManidapaM my loungewear consists of 2 t's and 2 toppers though I do need to get some PPL soft comfy trousers to go with them. Sleepwear is in a chest of drawers next to the wardrobe and I don't really do sports

Clearlyclaire yes I think I may have the prize for most vests!!

Tanya the trousers I just threw away were charcoal pinstripe and you are right so much more versatile than plain black

Butterfly lady I wash right away in case of shrinkage too x

Louise, I know what you mean about taking things to be altered - I have a pair of white jeans that need hemming and the pocket linings removing hanging in my wardrobe, they've been there for a couple of months now, I really *must* take them to the dry cleaner to get it done! Normally, if it's something I want to wear right now, I wash or dry clean the item (in case of shrinkage), try on, and then take to be altered within a week of buying.

What a great job you have done Louise! Your closet looks so organized. Yes, you definitely need some trousers. How about a charcoal pinstripe pair to start with - I find those incredibly versatile more so than black.

Good work Louise! It seems like many of us have a dearth of tops and non-jean trousers. And now I know why I haven't been able to find a vest; you have them all! Just kidding.

That is what Meredith calls lean and mean I guess! Well curated, Louise! I love the variety of patterns and colours and fabrics I'm seeing, being a variety-oriented person myself. And I love seeing your boxed-up shoes.

I have the exact same trouser challenge, though, and really I too should put all my pants in the discards bin --- I'm procrastinating because I'm paranoid, though :-/

What about loungewear and sleepwear, and sportswear if you have any? Do you have a separate closet or drawers? Or will they need to be fitted in here too?

Butterfly lady thankfully work is fairly casual, though no blue jeans so trousers aren't urgent but they would make a nice change

Kimlee trousers always fit through the bum and hips but leave a huge gap at the waistband. I know this is an easy fix but sometimes I just can't be bothered to take them to get altered and on a couple of occassions they have taken too much out of the waistband and I can't get them over my hips!! though if I could they'd fit perfectly in the waist. Think I need granny trousers with elasticated waists x

Cjh it is lovely now it's organised and there is no 'dead wood' I was shocked to discover I have 6 vests!! I don't wear them all that often but I couldn't cull any as they are all so different and I love each one

Emily nope there are no trousers, I binned my 1 and only pair a couple of weeks ago as they had worn through at the top of the thighs, I struggle to get trousers to fit but I do need to start looksing for a couple of pairs

harmonica i'm pretty much covered for all my seasons I veer between wanting to keep things 'boxed' into seasons and wearing eveything all year and just changing the layers, outerwear and footwear to make them seaonally appropriate. In terms of wardrobe holes I perhaps need a pair of trousers, more tops, perhaps a winter skirt. I've been in a bit of a rut over the last 6 months and have lived in tunics and leggings because I couldn't really be bothered with anything else. I'm over that now thankfully x

Really fun to see wardrobe pics It seems that you have a really nice and functional wardrobe. Fun to read your list of items too. Do you feel that you are more or less covered for the lifestyle and dominant seasons you live? Or what wardrobe holes do you need to fill?
