Thank you all very much for your input! Just to clarify, I am not considering getting id of the favorite wrap tops. Just wondering what to do with the less favorite group and if it has to do with the way they are worn.

Anne, you have excellent memory! Yes, that was my go-to-outfit 5-6 years ago. I still wear bootcuts, though much less often than skinnies. I guess the same goes for wrap-tops vs. more voluminous ones.

ButterflyLady, looks like I have already ended up with toomany of them Yes, looks like I should purge less favorite ones and figure out a new way to wear the favorites.

Inge, sadly do not own or plan to get most of those bottoms (I might get a pair of BF jeans, but that is still a maybe). The only bottoms from your list I have are slouchy trousers/skinnies, and that is not intentional, but due to the fact that I have lost a lot of weight so they are 1-2 sizes bigger. But I feel that such slouchy bottoms look best with tucked in top and belted. and would look kind of strange with a wrap top. Or not?

Thistle, those are excellent questions! I do wear them occasionally (at least the favorites), just not as often as before, because I have other (more fresh looking options). And I mostly wear skinnies these days, and wrap top with skinnies looks too body-conscious to me at the moment. (and with bootcuts they look too much like 5-years ago.

Hmmm... Food for thought.

I hope wrap tops are still okay. I just found them! And wrap dresses!

If you are not wearing them, why aren't you wearing them? Do you not like them? Are they perhaps in need to replacing because of a lot of wear? Are you jus looking for a change?

I would figure out why you aren't wearing them and put them Ina holding area. If your style has truly changed and you are moving to something else, I would purge them. But the holding area gives you time to figur out why.

Good question, Tanya. You've always looked stunning in wrap dresses and tops. I agree that you should hold on to your DVFs.
Perhaps with the other tops, it depends on the colours/patterns? Are they all still in excellent condition, perhaps purge the ones that are showing wear and tear and try the others with on-trend silhouettes to give them a new lease on life (because you mentioned you aren't wearing them).

E.g. have you tried pairing them with: boyfriend jeans, slouchy trousers or slouchy jeans, longer & looser fitting shorts, leather pants or trackpants...

I'm an hourglass shape too, and love how flattering wrap tops are. I too have to be careful I don't end up with too many of them - I've only kept my favourites that I wear and re-wear. I don't *always* want to be wearing pants/wrap sweater/cami!

If a cut is flattering, and pretty classic, I don't see why you need to purge all of them, keep your favourites, and enjoy other shapes and silhouettes as well.

Good question Tanya. Wrap top, bootcuts and wedges were your go-to outfit when you first joined YLF, weren't they, and you certainly looked great in them!

I promise this is the final question for tonight, but plenty more to come on this topic in the near future

I am an hourglass with fairly small waist, so wrap tops are very flattering on me, probably one of my best cuts. I have acquired a ridiculous number of various wrap items over the years: dresses, cardigans, shirts, tops, even wrap t-shirts! Now I do not think they are dated, hopefully they are classic and just not-so-much on the trend at the moment with all the looser cuts. Still, I find myself rarely reaching for them, and even when I do, it is only for some clear favorites. There are 5 DVF items I would never part with and a couple of other favorites. And there is a big group of " second tier" wraps that I can not remember when was the last time I wore, but I go on keeping them because they are my best cut.

So, is there a way to style such a body-conscious shape to look more current with today's loose trends? I used to mostly wear them with bootcuts in the past but that does not quite look right to my eye now. Or should I just grit my teeth an get rid of that whole second group of items? Or keep them for whenever they look more current again? *very undecided here*
