The current suggestions already are helpful! :) This summer, I'm looking for a closed toe shoe to wear in a utilitarian way with cropped pants. I'd like a clunky and urban look, not too sweet. Leather and a low-mid heel, not flat. Dream sandal is the non-existent Summit White Mountain (below) but in white. Which isn't offered. All the YLF threads about white sandals are making me find the available tan color rather meh. I've ordered the white lace up from ASOS but I'm worried they're too flat. The Zinda pumps look adorable but maybe too cute. The gorgeous mint from ASOS are synthetic and I couldn't get through the 14 hour days in them. I LOVE the Belen booties below but I'm pretty sure they're too flat for what I need this time. Urban, refined, RATE, retro? I prefer not to wear open toed shoes to work and have a relatively high volume foot. I have these Cobb Hill sandals/pumps below. They're very comfy, but fairly casual. The vibe is definitely more quirky retro than urban refined.  Perhaps this general style of shoe - closed toe, with heel coverage and T strap - might work well for her needs. It covers toes while providing some coverage and walkability. I have d'Orsay flats, too, but they don't always stay on my feel well. That's why I like T straps. I have just ordered the Halogen Olson flats that Angie featured recently, but they haven't arrived yet. She has a high volume foot. She is attending grad school in NYC and walks a lot. She will not wear open toe shoes as she has some toenail fungus which she is totally embarrassed about. I do not think it is noticeable but she certainly does. She has a lot of trouble finding shoes in general and loathes to shop for them. Many seem to have the back come up too high on her heel and then she gets horrible blisters around the back of her ankles ,she seriously has some scars from a pair of Sperry's.  Oh and did I mention that they need to be fashionable  :))
