Ohh, so they are both at the same time! Maybe your ears would feel less stretched out with the Omega backs.

Thanks all! Omega back, that is new to me.. I thought these where possible to wear as clip ons. I do have my ears pierced, but certain earrings are so heavy to wear, I feel my earlobes stretch out a mile long. I am afraid to snap anything off, and leave a sharp crater to cut my self on. Thanks for all the advice!

I believe this is called an “omega back” and is more common with fine jewellery. The hinged clip keeps the earring extra secure. It also has the bonus effect of keeping a heavy earring slightly more upright on a small earlobe. The push on back is actually the “extra” part.

These are pix you took, not stock photos, right? Can you tell us how things move? It looks like there’s a little hinge? Can you wear them with the posts just next to your earlobes?

If you have little flat nose jewelry pliers you could bend the post down easily. It may or may not break off in process. But if it does and it's uncomfortable, use a metal file on it.

Maybe they are earrings- just with extra secure clip ( could be fixed though)...

Oh gosh. That is slightly fascinating. I’d guess snap it off... but then you might need to file down anything left over...

Does that little disk have a tiny hinge on it?

Sorry, had only looked at the first photo. Yes, I think you'd have to snap off the post meant for a pierced ear, if your ears are not pierced.

Possibly a really stupid question.. These earrings are advertised as both "clip on", and regular. But how exactly am I supposed to wear them as clip ons? Should I break the little rod off? By hand?? Has anyone any experience with this, or can point me in the right direction? Thanks!
