Omega back, that is new to me.. I thought these where possible to wear as clip ons. I do have my ears pierced, but certain earrings are so heavy to wear, I feel my earlobes stretch out a mile long. I am afraid to snap anything off, and leave a sharp crater to cut my self on. The hinged clip keeps the earring extra secure. It also has the bonus effect of keeping a heavy earring slightly more upright on a small earlobe. It may or may not break off in process.
