The shirts have potential and I'm with everyone on that one. Great suggestions from the motley crew.

The baby doll is hitting you in the wrong place. If it were 5 inches longer, you’d sport a little boho look.

Julie - I echo everyone on the comments. One way to salvage the second one would be to use it as a layering piece - almost like you would use a cami in that the only parts of it that would peek out would be a bit on top and a few inches on the bottom - mabye with a sweater or jacket above it.

yeah the red and the white top are lovely. I've thrown out everything in my closet i;ve had most of it since grade 10. Now I have 4 shirts and 4 pairs of jeans in my closet a lot less laundry to deal with lol.

I am a bit late here, but I agree with everyone above that the first and third top are keepers. And Shell summarized all the ways to make them more interesting beautifully!

I don't wear scarves, except for winter scarves, and even then it has to be pretty darn cold outside. I love them on other people though. Not only do I suffer from the inability to know HOW to wear them, I also tend to be warm rather than cold. So wearing something around my neck, even loosly, would drive me nuts.

Hi Nicole - thank you for your input. I love scarves, have tons of scarves, but have no idea how to tie them and feel awkward when I wear them. I have a whole drawer of them though. Do you wear them? Any thoughts on how to wear them? I should go through my drawer and try some on and post them. I know I have a gorgeous Hermes one, but have no clue what to do with it. The red shirt might look short because my arm is up. It seems too long when I try it with a skirt. I'm going to play around with the red shirt, my clamdiggers and a silver necklace I have. I can also try the white shirt with my navy pants. Thank you so much for your ideas!!

Julie, I agree with the majority about the blue top. It's too "little girly" to me. I don't think altering the length will change that.

I'm not sure if the first shirt is long enough for a belt. Is it rising because your arms are up? If you did wear a belt, maybe a wide stretchy one wouldn't let the shirt rise much higher. (Unless you wore it with a skirt and wanted it shorter?)

I like the white shirt--maybe a white cami underneath, a red belt or sweater vest, and navy bottoms?

How do you feel about scarves? Would you consider wearing scarves with these shirts?

Thank you guys for all of your ideas. I'll play around with the red and shirt some and see what I can come up with. I will try them with a funky necklace and I can add some shine. Thank you LauraElizabeth for reminding me about texture, shine, pattern and metallics. I feel like the shirts are boring because they are plain, but I have tons of accessories. I'm still on the fence about the blue shirt. It just doesn't seem to do me justice, but I can't tell if that is because it is at an awkward length. Thanks!

i also love the first and third - don't get rid of them! :)

I think everyone here is spot on with their recommendations.

- structured vest (love love love this idea)
- cardigan
- blazer
- high-waisted belt
- sweater vest

The second top does look a little baggy, particularly under the bust, which is where it is intended to be fitted. You could try cinching that part in with a belt. Other than feeling long (and it does seem to hit at an awkward length, so i'd consider shortening it if you decide to keep it), how would you say it fits?

I like the first and the third shirts as well. I like your idea for the sweater vest. You could also wear them over your clamdiggers with a funky, chunky necklace (got that from Nicole). What about under a men's wear inspired vest? A belt would possibly work as well. Another idea I got from someone here was to tie a long scarf and create kind of a tie blouse effect. You could also wear them on their own under a blazer.

Keep the first and third top. The second one is too baggy in my opinion. The print is pretty but the fit is not ideal. Since you want to add interest to the 1st and 3rd shirts, you could also wear them with a printed skirt or textured slacks or a cardigan. They are solid colors, so breaking the outfit up visually by adding pattern, shine, texture, or metallics will help.

I like them all and see no reason to get rid of any of them. They are all good for layering, or as is in hot weather.
Personally I love the second one in the blue pattern.

Love the first and third tops and the ideas you had for adding some funk. Definitely could try them with a belt. I don't like the second top on you. It looks too baggy and not as flattering.

Hi everyone - so I'm inspired by Ana and Sarah and starting to clean out my closet. It is bit by bit and I started today with some shirts that I'm on the fence about. Any comments, opinions are greatly appreciated.

http://i289.photobucket.com/al.....C00315.jpg
Is there anyway to make this shirt more funky. I was thinking I could put it over a argyle sweater vest for the fall and put a blazer over top. Any other thoughts? Is this a shirt that I could belt?

http://i289.photobucket.com/al.....C00316.jpg
This one I think needs to be shortened, but I can't tell if it would be worth it to shorten it. I can't say I love the way it looks in the picture.

http://i289.photobucket.com/al.....C00317.jpg
Same as the red shirt - any way to make this shirt more exciting?

Thank you for your thoughts!
