Hi, and get ready to laugh...as I was looking at the pictures I was thinking, I'm going to pick dress number three and it will be a good test to see if I have a clue. Oops, no, guess I don't cause the vote is overwhelmingly for dress number one.

I do think dress number one looks the best on you...it has more shape. I was influenced by the cool print of dress number three, thinking it was more striking. But on a last a long time dress, that would work against it, making it too memorable. So now I'm wrong on both counts. Is it any wonder I can't get dressed?!

Whoa. New dress. You look more svelte and sophistocated in it, and still comfortable and not fussy. Now, the original dress has more of a casual vibe so maybe it has a role for a different reason. But when you compare them, I would say even for a casual cotton dress, you should aim more for the lines of #1 and not the high neckline. Be patient and picky!

Angie is right. I love the V-neckline on you. The print is softer against your complexion than pure black and the knit looks like it loves your body more than the woven (I think?) tailored sheath in the last pictures. I do love the print on the sheath for you so I can see why you tried it. I much prefer the pumps and the sandals in #8 to the sandals in the first picture. You're doing great!

I much prefer the cut of the first dress too (the newest one that is because you rock a V-neck line) - and with a topper because I don't find the capped sleeves 100% flattering. It looks amazing with the denim jacket, and the black topper & pumps in #6!
I really like #1 and #2 with #2 in the lead between them, although the pattern is so flattering.

The cap sleeves look fine to my eye, but might not be as modern as sleeveless. I just find myself more comfortabel with a sleeve, even a cap one.

I love #1, cap sleeves and all, but it would be a simple alteration to change them if that was a deal breaker for you. I think the dress is such a great length and it looks fab in every picture you've posted. It's not easy to find something that you can dress up or down.

Isis good suggestion. I will try to fold the sleeves under and see if that improves things. It might be worth altering if it looks good. But perhaps a vneck would also improve things.

Glory, I agree with you about the sleeves. I just don't like cap sleeves. I do like the neckline on you. If you fold under the sleeves, you could see what a great dress this would be if it were sleeveless. Perhaps you could find an equivalent dress with that scale of print, ruching, drape, and that neckline (or a v-neck).

I used to try on dresses all the time with cap sleeves. I have large arms and broad shoulders and I think they magnify where they cut across the arm. Now I know to pass by capped sleeved dresses ! A revelation!

But, of course this is a personal opinion; others quite like cap sleeves.
Suz - I agree about the sleeves. I realized it as soon as Angie mentioned it last night. I think it looks good with a topper but not great alone which is probably related to the sleeve length, possible the neckline.
Rachylou - thanks for helping me decide. I love the idea of the red cons but have nowhere near the courage to wear them. Baby steps for me

The first dress is it. Modern and interesting. The last dress is good too, but it's conventional ("not that there's anything wrong with that" ;>). The middle dress - I agree that's a lot of black and the features at the neckline don't add as much interest as I think the designer had hoped. I think the middle dress would be given a big boost worn with some red Converse chucks.
Glory, I really like the shape of the first dress on you a lot, and the pattern's scale. Like Angie, I'm not a big fan of that sleeve style, but that may be personal quibbling. I am not as crazy about the fit of the other two, and while I do like the graphic print, comparing it to #1 I don't think it does as much for you.

I am really wondering if one of the Kamalikulture dresses might work for you. They are available from Amazon and apparently we can order from there.

I much prefer the first dress. It looks fab with the black topper and pumps... not the biggest fan of it with the sandals (well, really just the sandals themselves). I wouldn't call it a 10, as I do think you could get away with a lower neckline, but I quite like it on you. The length is nice.

The black solid isn't doing much for me. I like the third dress, but when you wear it, the pattern looks kind of like eyes to me. Not sure about that one.

Thanks ladies.Dana - great idea - I was looking for a cobalt orginally but thought maybe a print would hide more lumps and bumps. Perhaps I will look again.

Pretty classic, but it all depends on how it fits you as to whether it's fab or not. This dress is cute, but you might also consider a solid color: blue, hot pink, etc. Then you'll be able to style it many different ways. Think of it as your summer lbd. M
