I'd get the blush. I just ordered a duplicate of my own "blush" shoes for spring/summer. They are much more casual because of my lifestyle but the color, although not a "match" per se, works just right with my tan bag and I'm wearing them so much I wanted a backup pair!

Haha, I have a complicated relationship with the concept of pretty (and pink for that matter). I think for now I will indulge and try the shoes. Not being crazy about either bag, I will wait a while and yes, seize the opportunity if and when it presents itself.

If you would use the blush and wear it now, go for it.

If you're in the northern hemisphere, we're months away from autumn.

As far as shoes, I don;t have that pair of Clarks, but I haven't found many of their shoes that aren't instantly comfortable. And if Angie says they are comfy, they always have been in my experience.

I am a big believer in “seize the day/ moment”. The time for getting the other things will present themselves when you need them.

I'm a step ahead of you, Liesbeth :)

Pretty isn't one of my style descriptors either. I LOVE pretty things. They make a powerful statement on a confident person. Thoroughly modern and empowering - throwing the ridiculous stereotype straight out the window that wearing "pink and pretty" is weak.

ETA: A true blush. Pinky-Beige. Not Ice Pink.

Thanks all. I am looking specifically for a spring summer bag and shoes, so blush does fit that bill. And brown is indeed not very summery.
@Angie: pretty is not one of my style descriptors :). But I do find blush appealingly ladylike and complex.

GET THE BLUSH. Prettier than brown. Different. Leave brown for Autumn.

These work for a wider foot, and are VERY soft. You can fit an orthotic too.

I haven't tried the Clarks Angie listed, but I've had very good luck with that brand. They are normally very comfortable and hold up well. In fact, most of my work shoes are Clarks!

As for the purse, I think it depends. Like Inge said, you may not be able to find blush later this year. But, would you prefer a purse that could be more year-round or more spring/summer?

Oh, I had another thought: Brown bags will probably be widely available in Autumn too, whereas it might be harder to find blush footwear and bags after the Spring/Summer collections are gone. So perhaps that's something to consider too?

I don't know about these particular loafers, Liesbeth, but I have a similar pair from Clarks from about 3 years ago (also in blush:-), and they are super comfortable. It's always hard to judge colours on a computer screen, but in this photo, the loafers do look more blush than beige to me. The first bag looks a bit more beige-y/light taupish, the second bag more blush, so from the pics alone, I'd say the second bag is a closer match to the shoes.

I hear you on the limited budget!-( If it helps, I've found that blush footwear can be very versatile. And it kind of sounds like you are more excited about the blush than the brown leather bag right now?-)

I am in doubt whether I should purchase these slip ons that Angie recommended. I like the minimalist style and I love nude-ish shoes for spring summer for their leg lengthening effect under skirts and dresses. I have been playing with the idea of creating a blush complement, and found two possibly matching bags from Clarks that would fill my vacant spot for a summer work bag.

Here’s what’s keeping me: I really should allocate my remaining budget for the season to a brown leather bag that matches my new lace up shoes, a pair of (ankle) pants and some lightweight / layering tops. Those are things that I have been missing constantly since the weather
has warmed up.

Here’s what’s pushing me to buy regardless: I’m making do without said wardrobe holes anyway, getting some more use out of older stuff, and I know the blush items would be workhorses as well. (Oh, to have unlimited budget!). The shoes are starting to sell out here in certain sizes too.

Any thoughts?

To Angie and others that own these Clarks shoes:

- are they as good as Angie says? comfy, stylish, versatile?

- would you describe them as blush or are they more beige?

- do you think the bags I added are a good enough color match to start a complement?

To those that have seen some of my WIW’s: do you think these shoes would enhance my style?
