I actually found the Matchsticks too straight for me. The pockets were too low because I couldn't lift them up enough in the back. I filled them out a little too much. Yes, the pockets were too low. They were adorable on my DD, who's more of a pear. Her hips filled them out better, keeping the pockets higher and where they are supposed to be. Maybe British brands just aren't for me. The clams would have fit well but they were slipping down on me because the waist is too big. The hips/thighs are fine though, when the pants are up where they're supposed to be. But the pockets make them a reject.</p> <p>I had the low pocket problem with the J Crew Matchsticks too, and I'm surprised they get such rave reviews here. Both pairs are quite big on you, and I agree w/you abt the back pockets. This low pocket placement has been an ongoing issue lately. I don't know who would benefit from such a low pocket?? Like women don't have enough issues with their bums!! I think women all over the world should stop buying pants with bum pockets that fall anywhere below their bum. Maybe THEN they'd stop putting them there! I got them because the 8's (UK sizes) were too tight, but these are way too big. I look so much bigger and squatter than I am.
