Thanks for posting this Nicole. If the vinegar doesn't work, I'll definitely give it a try.

I LOVE the clamdiggers! I'm going to invest in at least one more pair for the summer. I'll let you all know if the vinegar thing works out (I'm keeping my fingers crossed).

Weird. I haven't had that problem with the JC clamdiggers (the matchsticks, correct?) I hope the vinegar solution works out for you, Ana!
Are you loving these clamdiggers? I am, and think I will basically live in them this summer.

I just soaked my clamdiggers in vinegar last night, and then put them on a warm wash. They are currently air drying, but I will try them on tonight or tomorrow and see how it went. Maybe the blue isn't coming off on yours because you did the vinegar thing right off the bat, Patience. I hope it works, because I'd really like to get a second pair.

I haven't had a problem with the blue rubbing off on my first pair of clamdiggers. Don't know about the second pair yet. I did do the vinegar thing in a bucket first time I washed them. I wish I could help more.

Ana, I use vinegar for everything! I've tried to go less toxic in my cleaning supplies, especially with little ones around. I love it! My husband buys the big jugs too when I put it on the grocery list and just sighs cause I go through it pretty quickly

Thanks Dani! I actually bought a whole big jug of vinegar after Nicole posted about how she uses them on the towels instead of bleach, and it's worked like a charm, so I think I even have enough. I'll do it tonight before I go to bed.

Thanks everyone!

Should work...I don't see why you couldn't put vinegar in the machine overnight if you can do so with bleach.

Hmm, I am sorry I don't have any solution to this.

I just wanted to say that I've had similar issue with some of my jeans in the past, so the dye would get on my hands, and because I tend to unconsciously touch my face a lot of the dye will be on my face as well. So I would end up all day looking like a smurf indeed with the blue face and my lab-colleagues would not say a single word!

My clamdiggers have got the blue dye migration problem. It hasn't really been an issue with it rubbing off on any clothing, but my hands are constantly blue! It actually makes me laugh to walk around with smurf hands, but it'd be nice not to have to run to the restroom every 10 minutes to wash them. Have any of you all had this problem with the dark denim J. Crew clams?

I don't think I can take them back at this point, and I really don't want to. I've washed them 4 or 5 times, with vinegar and all that and this is still happening. I haven't washed them on hot though, only cold. I was contemplating doing it, just once, to see if it'll sap out some of the dye. Would this totally ruin them? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!
