My guess is that both brands will look fab on you, Vicki. Opt for the one with extra comfort!

I really, really like both 7FAM and COH in general but have not tried the Avas. Not much help:(.

Thanks, Claire, Joy, Mo, Niefern, Suz and IK for the denim feedback! Suz, I'm a bit like you in having a capsule of high-low brands, and I agree that "premium" jeans are amazing in every way!

In fact, seeing Janet's post on the AG premium jeans today, I am now going to look at this brand, too. I hadn't heard of them before, but when I went to the Nordstrom website, I really loved the silhouette of these jeans, too.

Niefern, I have Gap, Banana Republic, J. Brand, etc. to name a few and I do wear jeans often. Even with premium jeans, and the cost associated with them, it's really helpful to get feedback here. As an example, I used to love J. Brand, but I had a couple of bad experiences with them, when a few "bagged" out and the fit didn't hold up. I'm inclined to buy premium due to the fit and fabrication and because I want them to last so the CPW makes them affordable. Plus, there's nothing like having several pairs of "go-to" jeans that just feel good.

I'll keep you posted on these. It looks like CoH isn't available to try on "in store," and I'll give a call to Nordstrom today to see if the AG's are. It's always better to buy them in person and IK, I forgot about the Rack, although I don't usually go there, due to the huge shopping experience.

I have some Elsons. I love them. But always try before you buy, because fabric and lot always make a difference.

For very dark denim I like 7FAM.

I get my jeans used, on sale, or on ebay. The Rack is another good spot for jeans in my experience as well.

Believe me I do have a stingy streak. I always think twice before I buy something, especially if it is pricey (or I consider it pricey). When I am looking for something, I always start at cheaper stores, and I only go to more expensive stores if I do not find there what I was looking for. I acknowledge this can be a problem too, as I sometimes buy things that are not as good quality as they should be.

Levis make a good solid product but it is not the same fabric and construction as on the premium denim.

No need to consider yourself stingy! Everyone's budget is different, plus we have different priorities. Vicki can wear jeans as everyday wear (she is not working in an office) so laying out more money for them make sense for her. The same is true for me; I work from home so jeans are my every day wear. If I were working in an office and only wearing once or twice a week I am not sure I would consider it worth it. As it is, I like mixing high and low price points! I also shop sometimes at consignment stores which helps with the budgeting.

The most expensive jeans I have ever bought were 80 euro I think ($105), this was a few years ago and I thought they were very expensive then. They were Levis bootcut and while they were nice and fit, they didn't last any longer than others - all my jeans always wear out from my legs rubbing together. I guess I am not ready to pay more for jeans, maybe I am a bit stingy.

Niefern...these are premium denim, which admittedly can get quite expensive! And these particular jeans are somewhat pricey even by that standard. But as others have pointed out, premium tends to wear longer and look better. In most cases there IS a difference. That difference won't matter to everybody. But if you wear jeans a lot and your pocketbook allows it, it's worth it.

I own all kinds of jeans..."regular" (e.g. jeans from the GAP etc.), slightly better quality jeans (e.g. Kut from the Kloth) and premium (DL1961 and Bleulab). There's really no comparison...the premium jeans are much superior.

Vicki is very slender herself so she does't have any worries on that score.

Those jeans look very nice, although the model wearing them is so very slender I do not know how they would look on a more average body. Then I looked at their price, 159.54 euro and I almost chocked. Is this considered 'normal' price for nice jeans? Or maybe I am unaware of other quality differences between high end jeans and normal jeans - please enlighten me.

I don't know but I really like the looks of these in the Slash wash and love the 8 1/2" rise. My BF is wearing CoH and looks great in it. I tried the Dylan BF jean and did not like it, but have never tried any other CoH jean.
Let us know if you try them what you think!

Vicki, I tried the COH elstons and avas about three years ago and liked both but bought the Elstons because they had no fading. They have been in constant rotation year round for years now and still look great. They don't get baggy with wearing so that I can wear them three times before washing. I wish I'd bought another pair of dark denim Elstons when they were available.

I just got a great pair of Express jeans. They are the Stella low rise skinny but they fit me like straight legs. I got a faded wash, but they come in super dark wash too. Since you have slim legs, these might work for you as well. Good luck. Sorry I can't help on the ones you asked about. :/

Do any of you have these jeans or any feedback on them? Angie posted a blog and included them in her piece and they look great as shown here:

http://youlookfab.com/2012/12/.....odsy-walk/

And, here:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/ci.....um/3189825

I'd be interested in hearing your feedback as I'm ready to fill a few holes in my jean capsule. I'm also on the lookout for some very dark-wash jeans, if you can throw out a few suggestions there, too! Thanks!
