By the way... I revisited this post to see if there were any other suggestions, and I realized, you said this:

"Preferably not rubber." Oops. If Vibram isn't rubber, it's the next closest thing. :D

Yes, there is Vibram, which is non-slip, in a red color that goes pretty well with the iconic Louboutin red. You definitely want to research and find a reputable shoe person to do this - read reviews! It would be heartbreaking to have someone ruin your expensive pumps.

I have a pair of Cavalli pumps and had gold vibram added. It didn’t seem to affect the weight or balance of the shoe, and the added security of non-slip is nice.

There is Shoe Spa in New York, I believe? And I’ve had friends recommend Trio in Atlanta for their Louboutins.

FWIW, I own an older pair of Louboutins in black calf hair, with white watersnake heels, and I am not ever planning to add vibram, because I don’t want the calfhair or snake damaged while they’re trying to put this stuff on. I sometimes consider having the soles repainted, but I would take them to Trio or ship to New York. Maybe. Possibly.

Have you asked at shoe repair shops? The shoemaker in my hometown would put these thin sole-shaped pieces that had little ridges for traction on our shoes. Of course, that would spoil the original color of them.

Googling “shoe protection” brings up several different products.

Is there anything that you can put on the bottom of the shoe to prevent/delay wear? Preferably not rubber.

Thank you all so much!
