I wear moto jackets frequently. There is definitely a sweet spot though and if I get any shorter than a certain length, it tends to make me look bulky. Like the others, I go for a longer top underneath and that helps. The proportions of the longer top to the shorter jacket/cardi are important. I'm not referring to the bolero style, I would never dream of attempting that, it is hip length or shorter jacket that seems disproportionate on me. The pictures you posted AJ are darling and I like how you have styled your jackets with the longer layers, you look very petite and that is the opposite of me..I tend to feel like the cropped style makes me look extra large on top and all butt and legs if that makes sense. I keep the cropped layer a darker color than the longer layer so that the eye follows the length of the longer layer, thus making my torso appear longer. Isabel posted a recent thread about her long torso (2 3/4 hand widths) that helped me realize how short waisted I am. I measure 1 1/2. Is this why I don't look right in cropped jackets, moto jackets and the like? Is it ever possible that I can wear a cheekier jacket or should I just stick with the longer jacket?
