Thanks everyone. So there's votes for and against! I am not sure I am very eclectic or whimsical but I am trying to be a little more lively looking.
Lyn, thanks the skirt sounds very versatile, you are being very generous.
Beth Ann thanks for the blouse suggestions. I will try one out to work tomorrow.
And yes I did feel like a cosmopolitan girl that Sat!

I think the blouse would look "newer" tucked into a waistband, and it would look great under a sweater or jacket. Of course, tucking wouldn't work with this kind of skirt, although a low contrast belt might add a little structure and definition to the outfit.

Dim sum and museum? Sounds like you making the most of your new life in the city, and are dressing for new adventures!

I liked it better with the checked blouse actually. I like the proportion of top to bottom with it, and also believe the full on eccentricity (it *is* an eccentric blouse) gives the outfit life and thoughtfulness.

Good grief! Adore #1!!! But then I like a wealth of texture and the subtle pattern mix and whimsy of it. Without is simply more understated with the unexpected reading eclectic rather than whimsical-preppy. To me anyway.

Anne- you don't have a tummy- I like it with the second top better. The blouse colour maybe doesn't play so well with the green in the skirt?
I'm glad that you were able to wear my friend's skirt, I am seeing her at Choir practice today and will tell her about it's new home.
BTW- if you need any more I have a black wool pencil skirt looking for a good home too- just let me know if you are interested.

I like the outfit without the checked blouse (photos 2 and 3). The skirt looks great, you could dress it up or down.

This was going to be a which should I wear yesterday but I ran out of time. I was going out to dim sum and the museum. The skirt is from a friend of Lyn D and very comfy which I wanted.

So did it look better with the checked blouse or not? I liked that the blouse covered my tummy, and Dh And dd liked it better so I wore it. But I am wondering if this blouse has passed it's use by date?
