It came back with about three options, at least one of which would work for me. But I have a pretty simple wardrobe, I imagine if someone had more unique pieces they might need to do more prompting. I'm curious what would happen if I gave it a lost of clothes and asked it to come up with a week's worth of outfits from that list. Here is the remainder of the week:</p> <p>Day 3. <b>Rose brown sweater, flare jeans, booties</b>. The image generation works a lot better when it doesn't involve a human in the image. But why does it put coordinating earbuds into every shot?!?</p> <p>Besides helping me decide on pieces, it suggested the slick-back ponytail, which worked great because my hair was dirty that day Actually I did this for the rest of the week because it was rainy out.</p> <p>Day 4. No photo from me - I was running around too much and totally forgot. The image here (especially the waist size) tells me we still need more women in coding <b>Burgundy crewneck and straight jeans, with burgundy booties.</b></p> <p>Day 5. <b>Navy and white striped sweater with black pants</b>. I wouldn't have thought to combine these, even though it's clearly not groundbreaking - but I would have defaulted to jeans so that was helpful. Lest you think the image it gave me seems more normal, look at how to watch is integrated into the sweater sleeve lol</p> <p><b>Bonus </b>- what it told me to wear to a classical music concert put on by the Centre where I work. Burgundy satin blouse, black slim trousers, block heel boots.&nbsp;</p> <p><b>What I Learned</b><br />- as suspected, ChatGPT is a helpful tool when used to <i>support but not replace</i> the human elements of personal style. In particular, it is useful for decision fatigue and to spark ideas which I then put together myself.<br />- obviously it's only as good as the clothes in my closet - because I do my best to shop smart, update as needed, and bring expertise such as Angie and all our yours into my decision-making, I was able to use the outfit suggestions in a way that worked well for me.<br />- it IS nice to get inspiration from something that is not selling specific products. We'll see how long that lasts!<br />- I will continue using ChatGPT is this manner - to support me in organizing myself, creating lists and providing useful starting points.&nbsp;</p> <p>Thank for everyone for the thoughtful discussion around AI and ChatGPT in particular. I appreciate that it is a nuanced and sometimes very fraught topic. As someone in a job that was almost immediately directly impacted by this emerging technology, I know the downsides of this tech and I am doing my best to figure out the way to use it in the most positive, supportive way. I think using it to combat decision fatigue in low-cost but high-frequency decisions such as what to wear, is a good use of the tech (at least for me).</p> <p>Happy weekend everyone! xx</p>
