I don't think I have skinny calves. I think they're average, BUT I have big feet (size 10), and so designers must think I'm six feet tall or more, and have proportionately sized calves. I think it's the same with clothes. Back when I was very slender, sleeves were too short. If you wear them with stockings, socks or skinnies when the weather gets cooler they will fill the gap. And the hem of the dress covers it in the interim.
