I did do a test run with some coloring some metal studs from bronze to silver, and then spraying them with shoe protective spray (I think it was Meltonian) and rubbing them vigorously and they held up. I have some studded boots I might want to change in the future.</p> <p>If you use an alcohol-solvent based product, try a test piece and try to remove it with cotton balls/quips and rubbing alcohol. Then you will know whether you can change it later if it doesn’t hold up.
