Thanks for clarifying the Nordstrom adjustment policy and sharing your personal anecdotes!

I do like your new budget idea rather than # of pieces. Good luck!

abc; the price adjustment works best for online orders. I think, as Ginkgo pointed out, that they are stricter about in-store purchases. The items for which I got price adjustments were processed last January, so definitely longer than two weeks after purchase. I know I have gotten an adjustment after several (or more) months. For this reason, if I know that I may not be wearing something from Nordstrom for awhile, I try to buy it online.

I just call the Nordstrom number at the bottom of the web page. I think I have also used the instant messaging function as well. They want to know the order number or date so they can look it up. Easy peasy.

ABC, I was refused a sales price adjustment at Nordstrom because it was more than two weeks after the purchase.

Sounds like a great idea. I have successfully done the monthly budget before. I only am trying the 12 for 12 because I found I was trying to nickel and dime my way through my budget instead of just buying the more expensive pieces. Just a personality quirk, I'm sure. We are all wired differently. Good luck!

Donna, I really do think a spend limit at least to me seems more reasonable vs and item limit per month. Myself, I like to no spend for months and then watch greedily as prices get marked down :). Like you I love price adjustments from Nordies!

Hey Donna, can you explain how Nordies honors the price adjustments? Is it only within a certain timeframe? Only if purchased online? I bought something recently (in store) and now it is marked way down but I am not sure if I am justified in asking for a price adjustment. I know lots of ladies here have done it but I am not sure of the parameters. If you can share your knowledge I would really appreciate it!

And regarding your $100/mo or $1500/yr, I think this is a more reasonable approach anyhow!

Thanks!

Well, that 12 items in 12 months or even 15 items in 12 months wasn't really doing it for me. I think I will be switching to $100 per month up to $1500 in a year as better for reining in my spending. My Nordstrom pencil skirt and peplum top just got marked down again, so items that I was prepared to spend $69 and $85 on respectively I got price adjusted to $25 and $30 which are the benefits of ordering online! Bless Nordies for making me a loyal customer. I can shop/wish list without sale blinders, yet also get the markdowns if/when those items go on sale.
