And what a nice reason to have to buy new clothes.</p> <p>About 1 1/2 years ago I decided it was time to add more color to my wardrobe, which had become useful but dull. I've had a good time experimenting, and although not everything works out, it's nice to have a choice of colors to put on depending on the mood. My favorites are once again jewel colors, which I had a lot of in my 40s.&nbsp;</p> <p>I am also experimenting more with styles after a lifetime of "age" appropriate rules for dressing. This means that a lot of my clothes are now too big for me! Daughter is having a lovely time directing me to rails with size 8 clothes though I still veer towards the size 12 items!</p> <p>This is giving me a great opportunity to add colour to my wardrobe. I love black and white as it's a safe, but perhaps dull way of dressing. (Colour meant scarves, or sometimes gloves! ) Now my coats/jackets/cardigans are red. jade green, cobalt blue, and my latest handbag is a lovely cherry red. They cheer me up and. when I feel a bit "apprehensive", I add my comfort blanket in the form of a black scarf!</p> <p>My shoes are still a practical black but this is because I have small feet (35/2.5): that size not easy to find. I am often advised to visit the Children's Department but youngsters these days seem to have big feet and &nbsp;the styles are just not suitable for an old woman!!</p> <p>These changes might be small but for me they loom large, added to which I am slowly changing my attitude and accepting invitations even though deep down I often want to say "No". Life is becoming more colourful!</p> </p>
