Too bad about the shirt. It was a very cute outfit. Hopefully the new one will not pull.

Diane, I know, right? I hope it was just this particular shirt so I may try for another.
Angie, it is very roomy and has lots of room in the chest that's I was puzzled
when I saw the pull in the picture. But definitely this placket explains why it pulls even when there is enough room.
I also ordered a bigger size which was too big so I laid it flat to see if the placket has the same issue and it did not. This gives me hope that maybe I got the weird defective one so I think I will order another one today while they have the promotion on.
I am not sure about the shoes. As Angie said they are not the best for the high volume feet. I have plenty of room in the instep and heel but the widest part of my foot may be a problem. They are OK at home but I am afraid that prolonged walking may cause the rubbing at the side bones. They are going through the trial now to see how I feel. Fingers crossed they work as I really like them! Yellow is so fun!
Suz, they are pretty flat - less than 0.5 heel but have some padding. Maybe they are worth a try? They will definitely stay on your feet. If you go for them you may want to get your smaller size as they run small. I could have gotten 11.5 but decided to go with 12 to get extra width.

I hear you about those plackets, what I call angled or fake plackets, not intended to be buttoned. They are death for me. I can make use of shirts that do not have enough buttons --many are made without buttons all the way up--if the placket is a true overlapping design to lie flat when closed, because I can add a snap or stitch. They do have a design advantage for those that can wear the deeper V look because they lie flat when not buttoned and give a smoother, wider V-than an unbuttoned shirt might.

Are you sure it's pulling Sveta? It looks very roomy from the side.

I LOVE it on you. Plenty current.

OOOH, what a shame about the shirt -- it otherwise looks great. Might be worth calling customer service and seeing if you can try another?

I LOVE the shoes and hope they work for comfort. I am tempted by something like that myself but fear my feet would tire in absolute flats. Hmmm. They would stay on, a real bonus for me.

Oh, dear, looks like for some reason the fronts aren't cut wide enough!. You would expect it to lay flat and meet. You would think they would know how to design a shirt

Diana, I just laid the shirt flat and took the pictures - see how the placket does not even come together - and without my shoulders in it! Maybe it is just a defective shirt? I may try for another one...

Yes, onto the next item eh?

I wasn't referring to the width of the shirt shoulders, however. I was referring to the way the shoulder line slopes down at an angle. You may have more horizontal shoulders, and the shirt may slope at more of an angle, and then you feel the pull. I did a quick illustration to show what I mean (see below). The arrows on the second drawing shows the direction of the pull lines you are getting on the shirt. I always get this as my shoulders are very horizontal and not sloped like a lot of clothes I try on. Anyway, this shirt is obviously not for you :)

I'm so sorry you have to return this. I was hoping the pull was that the material was caught on your bra or something, but if it is a problem with the construction, I agree it should go back.

Thank you for the shoe Find. Those are so beautiful!!!!

Joy, it is a shame. The length and color are perfect - and the stupid button ruined it all!
Debbie, Una - thank you.
Elizabeth. I tried with 3rd button undone but it is pretty deep and I do not feel comfortable with it.
Diana, I am not sure that the shoulders are the problem. They are the same width as my AT shirt which fits perfectly and when the button undone they lay well. I tried size up too but it is too oversized and I did not like it enough to keep. Oh well - to the next thing I think!

What a shame. But you know, I think the problem with the pull may actually be due to the fact that the shirt may be cut too sloped on the shoulders, so your strong shoulder line is creating the pulls, which on your photo can actually be seen on both sides. It needs to be cut more straight at the production stage. I have this happen all the time as I have square shoulders and every top or jacket I buy pulls like that.

Hmm, my response disappeared.
I think a reorder is worth trying, and if they have lined the placket up funny on that, say something. They ruined a great shirt!
Have you tried it with that third button undone?

I am considering this tunic shirt from Banana Republic and have a question: is this style still current? It seems that it should be worn untucked which means mostly over skinny jeans and pants - is this still a current silhouette?
Here I am trying it over white BF jeans and I think it kind of works too. Any other styling ideas?
Originally I wanted to post this for K/R but now looking at the pictures I think it is a return. As much as it pains me to return a shirt which is a good length for me ( and a good light blue color for me as well) I see that it is pulling on one side of the chest even though it has a lot of room in the chest area and not snug at all. I looked closer and it seems that the placket is not designed right: 3rd button from the top when open does not overlapped b the button hole so when it is buttoned it creates a pull. I thought that maybe I have a defective shirt because it does not seem to pull on the model. Then I looked closely on the model photo - and 3rd button is UNDONE there! So back it goes!
I also picked up these Halogen flats today. I am not sure if I will be keeping them though, need to test the comfort. But I definitely like how they look!
