It all looks terrific to me. I love that shirts, and think it would look fantastic with jeans! White sneaks for a casual-modern vibe, something dressier for a dressier vibe - it looks like a perfect dress up or down piece.

Hmm well I’m going to answer before reading the other replies to remain impartial.
I vote: keep the denim jacket, the pearls, and the striped shirt. Versatile, and classic items. To my eye the other things seem slightly dated.
As for styling ideas for the stripe shirt.... well, maybe you could actually have it altered and made a little shorter? Otherwise you could try it with jeans, sneakers and a blazer?

Love the shirt and the denim jacket - keep keep keep!!

I am unsure about the leather - I don't love it - but I am not sure about leather jackets full stop right now.

I currently don't have a pencil skirt but for a long time I owned one for dressy occasions - funeral, conservative work meeting etc... I could see this with a denim shirt or even a plain knit and boots...I would hold for now and see if you do wear it.

I am planning to get my tall boots reheeled this summer - makes such a difference doesn't it.

I vote keep it all accept the purple leather jacket. It's an odd length to style.

I also wondered if the augergine jacket is a little heavy and dark on you. It almost looks black in the photo (granted I am on my phone). I think the jean jacket looks perfect on you.

I like the look of that striped shirt and think that playing with styling is a good idea. Is there a reason why you would not tuck it? I could see it tucked with high waisted or wide leg jeans and loafers, especially if you have some patterned loafers to do a little subtle pattern mix with the stripes.

The skirt may be the most challenging for your newer, more casual lifestyle, but if you enjoy dressing a skirt down it could come in handy.

Good job on the repairs! I’ve been getting some of those things done too.

Love the denim jacket.

I'm with Lisa, is the leather jacket a touch too big? In general, though, your wardrobe is SO tight that I think it could handle a few non-workhorses without getting out of hand.

For the skirt, could you do the pencil skirt + sweatshirt formula to dress it down a bit? Seems like that could do for bridge night or the like.

Assorted thoughts...

1. is the aubergine leather jacket a touch too big on you ? Looks a little heavy up top....

2. love the denim jacket - vote keep.

3. re: BR striped shirt - since it has long tails, can you tie the front two at the waist (ish) and let the back be long ? Would like great over a wide legged pant or jeans....

The jean jacket is a versatile classic, and if you have the storage space I vote keep. The leather jacket looks somewhat dated to my eye. I like the more ruthless approach to editing, so I'd say keep the pearls and pass on the rest. Best of luck on your edit!

These are all beautiful items and if I were in your situation I would keep them all. The denim jacket looks great in that outfit. The leather is admittedly a tricky colour but a beautiful one, and looks good with that outfit. I know for myself, I often worry that items like that -- ones that can really only be used for a few weeks spring and fall in Ontario's climate -- fail to earn their keep, and I'm often tempted to eject them. But consider that your lifestyle has changed. You may not have been able to wear that topper to work but you could (potentially) wear it more often in its 3-week autumn season now that you are retired.

I adore that BR blouse and am still kicking myself that I didn't order it. Love it on you and on Angie. Please wear and see how you feel. The skirt is also gorgeous and can work for special occasion, right?

No brainer to fix the other stuff. I don't have any particular ideas but think all items are worth the effort.

After my closet cull I have 4 items on probation and some items that don't get used because they need a repair of some sort. I'm going to address them right away, but would welcome some advice.

On probation:

Jean jacket. My least worn of the three, but with the white one gone, and the Ikat topper unlikely to last much longer should I keep? It was cool on Friday when I deeked out to the farmer's market so I threw it on - and kind of liked it with the boho floral topper and dark skinnies. Keep?

Aubergine leather jacket. It has a quilted lining that makes it heavier and warmer than a conventional leather topper. The colour is a rich, dark purple that I find hard to style. Turned out it was the perfect thing for another cool day and it worked well with the maroon sweater and scarf (tied to bag). I wear it a bit late fall/early winter and sometimes late winter/early spring, but otherwise would wear a trench. Keep?

Striped BR button down. Comes with a pussy bow. Very flattering fit. I haven't worn it since I retired. The tails are too long to wear untucked. I'm thinking of wearing it for Bridge night this week and see how I feel about it. Needs some outfit creation work. Any ideas?

Wool blend pencil skirt. I love this skirt and a favourite look is with a black turtleneck and black high boots. In holding zone and if I don't wear it in the next year - it goes?

For repairs:

Baroque pearls - broken clasp and the 'gold' beads between the pearls have rough edges and are scratching the pearls. With knots between the pearls it will be choker length. I could also get it made into two bracelets. I meet with a jeweler who specializes in pearls later this week. Any ideas?

High boots - in good shape and comfortable, but heel bottom is hard plastic and very slick in icy conditions and I feel insecure wearing them. I'm going to ask the cobbler if the heel bottom can be replaced with a grippy rubber.

Faux snakeskin pattern leather belt - an inexpensive belt, but an interesting and versitile pattern. I haven't been using it because it is too big for higher waisted bottoms. I need 2-3 holes at a $1 a hole and will bring it to,the cobbler.

What do you think? Ideas, advice welcomed.
