The ballet shoes make your feet look wide when compared to how your feet look in the other shoes. If you don't wear slippers, let them go and make some space for something you love.

And if the brown boots are uncomfortable AND high maintenance, I wouldn't keep them if it were me. I don't mind some maintenance/shoe care, but I don't have the patience for finicky shoes, and i don't have patience for uncomfortable shoes

Get rid of the uncomfortable ones. The first pair looks really nice. Keep them. Ballet flats? If you normally wear socks inside, then get rid of them, too.

I still need to think about which Boden booties to get. I will put that in another post about my big fall shop 2018.

Thank you!

What Cardiff Girl said! I like the first ones although I know it's a tough colour to style. Looks good with denim, though, and could work with skirts.

being in the middle of my own footwear assement, i can honestly say the one thing i'm really good about getting rid of is footwear that is uncomfortable...so those go...
i like the pair in picture #1,2,3...like that the color is very neutral and seem to change color depending on what you are wearing them with...but then i'm a neutral on neutral wearer...

Thanks ladies.
The colour of those pointy boots is beige/olive/grey -a khaki, so by definition, neither here-nor-there, which would be fine if I had other pieces that were colourful or eye-catching, but I mostly wear neutrals in the winter.

Ah, still on the fence :-)

The boden booties are 3" and I am trying to justify them by saying I will wear them with skirts (indoors, at the office). Basically, I'm trying to expand my wardrobe away from skinny pants and into dresses and skirts for winter. I am on the fence with the heel height though. Another option would be a lower-heel tall boot, but I feel weird wearing tall boots inside. Is that weird?

I like the first boots - a useful colour and shape. I do have a pair of very flat ballet shoes that I only wear rarely - but occasionally they are useful as house shoes or for slipping in a bag. I would pass on 3 - uncomfortable is not great for a casual shoe.

Nice collection!!

I've tried demoting ballet flats to house shoes before but they're not comfortable enough to fill the "dressy slipper" niche. I've finally learned my lesson and dont buy them anymore!

The pointy suede boots like they might have some water/salt staining on the toes, or maybe it's just my screen? Colour seems a bit here-nor-there. Not really, brown, not really grey
For me, that's a hard colour to style.

I really like the dark brown Chelsea boots but if they're not comfortable why bother? Perhaps they're a little too RATE/menswear for your style (probably why I like them)?

The navy Boden boots in Finds look great for your style; the heel won't be too high for any of your pants' inseams?

I think your point toe booties are cute! If they feel good to your feet, maybe try a little TLC to see if you can save them. The brown booties sound like a pain - both to wear and to maintain. I think I would pass them on along with the ballet flats.

The last picture (8) shows my entire collection of shoes (but I missed my nikes, which are in my gym bag!).

I purge fairly often so that’s why I have a fairly tight collection.

I am getting rid of the Brown LLBean snowboots on the left as I have not worn them in about 4 years.

The ones I’m in the fence about are:

- tan/olive/khaki pointy toed boots (1, 2, 3). They’re comfortable. But they seem a bit worn. Perhaps I just need to clean them. They’re the only bootie I have that is close to my ankle, so currently the only ones I can wear with skirts. I actually do not own any winter skirts, but plan on some! I am considering a pair of boden booties as a replacement (see Finds).

- black ballet flats (4, 5). Too flat to wear outside. Demote to slippers? I usually just wear socks indoors though.

- Brown booties (6, 7). These are strangely a little uncomfortable. The leather quality isn’t great. Still and very hard to keep polished. They immediately get scratched and start looking ratty. I would like to get rid of them but maybe I’m just being lazy about the upkeep and care. They look alright when polished.
