Beautiful! Love your dressed area. I can take this as inspiration for the new closet I am gradually filling as we move.

I started the big edit a few months ago, so I am fine-tuning and finishing in areas where I've struggled. Today I tackled my holding zone to make room for new holds and my dressers which, sadly, have become a bit of a dumping area....

I share a medium sized walk-in closet with DH, of which my things occupy about 40%. I have been keeping everything in there, including activewear, gear, dresses, shoes, sleep wear, loungewear.... EVERYTHING. I have one built-in dresser in the closet and one on the other side of a room. My goal was to make the closet a zone for ONLY my streetwear and dressy attire (requiring hanging) and put all other things in their own zone.

I converted the in-closet dresser to shelves (fewer places to hide/stash things) and put socks/underwear in baskets and shoes on shelves. I moved heavy coats, snow and rain boots to a closet in our entryway. Activewear and loungewear were relocated to the dresser across the room.

While re-stocking the new shelves in the closet, I pulled some things to pass on: one open cardigan (Bobeau that doesn't go with anything in my wardrobe), two pairs of pilled lounge pants, two gowns for consignment, several pairs of socks and shabby tshirts (recycle). I demoted one teal pair of denim that doesn't really work in the wardrobe I am creating, but easily could be worn around the house.

My dumping dresser was emptied and I removed a few pieces of ill-fitting swimwear, 3 pairs of yoga pants, 2 workout tanks, more socks (!), as well as several belts, booties and a blazer I had in "holding" that I was ready to let go. My dresser now has one drawer each for loungewear, activewear, swim, holds and "to be tailored".

I love the new arrangement in the closet. My things now take about 25% of the space. I took the opportunity to check each item as I restocked, and organize items in a way so I can find things quickly and easily. I need to try on jeans to edit, I just ran out of time today. Photo 1 is a before of the dumping dresser. Photo 2 is the revamped shelf area, dressed top to bottom (hats to shoes)
