I tried, but I didn't wear them or was unhappy when I did. (Mom keeps trying to dress me!)</p> <p>-several scarves<br /> -2 hats<br /> -a dress<br /> -costume jewelery</p> <p>Things from my previous work life: </p> <p>-a pair of workboots<br /> - black trousers<br /> -sweater that never fit well<br /> -fingerless mitts I wore to keep my hands warm</p> <p>Other: </p> <p>-socks that slip uncomfortably<br /> -a watch </p> <p>The Ikat jacket fits my casual lifestyle just fine, but is showing signs of wear/fading. After reading through all of her links, I took a shower, took some care with grooming, dressed in some favourite items, and went to work. Near the end I enlisted DH's assistance (and advice!) since I had some 'emotional' work! The two biggest issues I had to deal with were 1. Saying goodbye to beloved workhorses, and 2. dispatching 'gifts' that just aren't 'me'. </p> <p>DH encouraged me to further purge my old work wear - but encouraged me to keep the Ikat jacket (a signiture piece) until I have an equally distinctive replacement.</p> <p>While putting my closet back together, I had a lightbulb moment. For 4 YEARS I had my wetsuit and running jackets located in the most accessible spot of my closet, and my CLOTHES behind the closet door! Forehead slap! I've reversed the order and feel quite smug about the new arrangement. Now, on to the next step! </p> <p>#1 the discard pile = 1 garbage bag<br /> #2-6 inside the newly configured closet<br /> #7 outerwear ready for fall </p>
