I actually had precancerous cells showing up on a pap smear right after I had my daughter, this was 18 years ago. I had cryosurgery, a super simple procedure, inpatient, zero recovery time and I was all good.<br /> I've had 18 years of normal pap smears since then. I had an abnormal Pap when I was early-to-mid twenties and everything turned out to be ok. After undergoing a procedure (can't recall what it was called) and everything. Results righted themselves several months post-delivery.</p> <p>Hopefully this turns out to be nothing. My pap came up with ASCUS, then I had the biopsy, and then pap smears every 6 months for 2 years. But after 2 years of normal paps, you are considered no longer at risk and it goes back to the normal procedures. </p> <p>Hope yours turns out to be insignificant as well! They did a cryo of my cervix, which is freezing the tissue with ultra cold gas. Nitro glycerin I think. The biopsy hurt worse than any actual procedures.
