There are two that I've identified as being good possibilities for regular shopping places, and carry designer stuff. Do they have those in Canada? A friend of mine and I normally hit up the year end sales at Holt Renfrew (a canadian dept store) during their last chance sale when items are up to 70% off and we always manage to walk away for a few pieces. They are normally in the $200 range which is more than I would spend normally, but I try and look for classic pieces that will last me a while. I was able to pick up some beautiful pieces this way.</p> <p>Tory Burch has some beautiful items in her spring/summer line...good use of colour, and lots of clean lines. Another good contemporary designer, that you might like is Nanette Lapore. I mean, I love to ogle Céline! </p> <p>I was at Neiman Marcus today, and they are just kicking into sale mode. I didn't look at shoes, and I'm not even sure they carry Céline (I was too chicken to ask because I knew I wouldn't be buying anything and didn't want to bother them). But, they do carry a lot of other designers, like Marc by Marc Jacobs and Chloé, Tori Burch (which I hadn't ever seen before but has some really fun stuff), DVF, Vera Wang, etc. Anyway, some of the sale prices were actually "reasonable." Stuff that was $700 or $500 is now down around $200, and DVF and Tori Burch (which are less to begin with) were down under $200, with some pieces actually being less expensive than J. Crew or Banana is at full price. I guess I never thought about designer stuff being on sale. There seemed to be lots of 6s and 8s left, which would be great for me, hee hee! Anyway, $200 is nothing to sniff at, but you might think about shopping the sales and seeing if you can find the shoes. If I were you, I would try to find every website showing them (try shopstyle.com to give you a rundown) and then track them religiously to see if they go on sale.
