Firecracker, I have to confess! A big motivation for doing WIW's is to figure out my style moniker. I'm not sure I'm ready for it yet; I really need to be able to do summer stuff, since that's my dominant season. But it's hard for me to see the cohesion. Thank you so much for that insight! I wore the rolled jeans again last night and it felt so natural. :)

Joy, you are so kind. I think I do smile a lot, except when I'm stressed!

rabbit, I never thought of Agent Carter! I haven't actually watched the show, but the style is awesome. Love that video. Thanks for the ideas about the melon dress, too. Navy is a brilliant idea, and I hadn't thought of green or teal at all. I don't have a basic navy topper, but I just discovered these cardigans. It's super hard to find long sleeves in a short length. This one might be a good investment.

Love 1-3, the navy shirt dress with the pale pinks (love pink and navy together in general).

9-10 valentines outfit. This is GREAT and is giving me Agent Carter real-ness https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr21vJOppLk I'm not seeing anything but a flattering shape around the hips.

also love the red plaid dress with the cut-out, which I also think is a nice retro touch while still being modest.

I'm also quite enamored of the melon colored dress on you, with gray works really well, but I bet navy and forest green/teal would also be good (again I'm thinking of Agent Carter because she wears blouses in that coral-y color range a lot with pants or skirts in the darker colors).

These are all gorgeous looks, Ginger. You achieve such a nice variety in these looks, yet they are cohesive. I love how you wear the skinny rolled jeans in 16/17--so different from the retro-inspired dresses, yet so ladylike and very you. And you look beautiful in the red dress in 9/10; I would guess there is some slight variation in camera angle in 10 that is throwing off the proportions of that one photo.

Thank you, Sara! It's a pretty unique design, and it fits beautifully. Very fun to wear. (Except in the wind because the skirt lining wraps around my legs!)

Angie, I was definitely thinking of you with the pearls! And most of these dresses have pockets, plus the green skirt. LOVE pockets.

Rachy, you make me laugh! I've been feeling a bit blah - I needed that.

Jenn, let me know if you can't find the top; it's been out since the fall and they're clearancing, but I'm pretty sure I saw several a few weeks ago. It's easy for me to visit different stores as well. I think you'd like it a lot. And thanks about the ankle straps! They're from Modcloth, totally synthetic, but pretty comfortable. The coral dress is so far my first try at the shoulder-to-bust measurement; my measure was precise to a half inch, so I rounded up. I think that's why the neckline is too long. I have the identical dress, same custom measurements (without shoulder to bust) from last summer, and the neckline fits me like the model, under slight tension so it lies totally flat. I tend to fill in the point with white anyway, but it's not necessary even when leaning forward. I have another order arriving today (the sparrow dress) and I used the new measurements; I'll definitely see how it works. It's a shirtdress style so the fit shouldn't be as critical. But if I can tell it's off slightly, I'll provide that info as feedback. Half an inch can be significant when we're talking bust point.

Alassë, I remember when you wore that dress! I still love the design, and thank you so much for your honest feedback. I think you were probably wise to not chance the pink/coral; it's on the bright side for me, and you rock the darker colors really well.

Thanks so much, Momo! These are mostly early-morning pictures, and my hair does have a mind of its own. I've got a pretty funny one from late last week, hope to share in a few days.

Kari, I'm glad you mentioned the green top. I pulled it off the rack solely because it was the same line/coordinate as the skater skirt, and a great price. And I was totally amazed how well it fit when I tried it! I actually got it in two more colors. It's a fun piece, and I've had people ask if the two were actually a dress. :)

Runs with Scissors, thank you! Dresses have always been my favorites; now that I'm finding ones I like, and that fit, I've never had more fun with fashion. :)

Thanks, shevia! I don't wear the pearls often, but they make a terrific statement. And I'm going to be wearing the jeggings as often as I can before it gets too warm.

Cerinda, I really appreciate that. It might be also that I'm bored, or feeling sloppy with it. I think the sweater has stretched out a bit, which doesn't help. I typically wear more structured boots, too, which kind of punch it up more than the fabric ones. Thank you.

Aww, thank you, Manny! I'm feeling a lot more cheerful now instead of blah. And I don't think I'll ever have enough dresses. ;)

olga, thank you!

Super retro elegance. I love what you are wearing these days! Of course I have a soft spot for your lovely dresses, but the dark green wrap top is my favorite because it's more unusual for you but still really works. It's such fun with the skater skirt.

Wow, what a collection!

My favorites:
Photo #2 - The navy shirtdress fits you perfectly, and that lighter-colored belt is a great accent for your tiny waist.
Photo #6 - I LOVE that top. And I just went and saw it was rayon rather than polyester. I might have to run to Kohl's and see if mine still has any in stock.
Photo #12 - Super cute all around.
Photo #16 - Fun to see you in jeans. This is a great casual look, and those ankle-straps are adorable.

Other notes: I suspect the hip thing in #10 is just a trick of the camera. Also, I'm really interested in your experience using the shoulder-to-bust measure at eShakti. I just submitted my first order with that measurement and am curious to find out how it changes fits for me.

Many outfits! Some close repeats and a few casual outfits. Also pondering some of the full skirt designs.

#1-3: February 10. Navy shirt dress again, this time with pale pink accents: rose gold pumps, vintage pink leather belt, vintage orchid brooch and earrings. Gray patterned hose. Also Old Navy gray pointelle cardigan, a recent ebay find.

#4-6: February 11. Alas, this didn't photograph well at all. The wrap front top actually works on me; there's plenty of material for it to hang gracefully, and I can pin it to prevent any embarrassment. I never get animal print, but the top was part of the same line that the skater skirt is from. They're an *almost* identical color match. Also, pearls! Vintage set, 50s or 60s. I have matching earrings, but the clips need adjusted and they were bigger than I wanted to wear that day.

#7-8: February 12. Running-errands outfit: Periwinkle empire waist dress and drape-front belted cardigan. Comfortable, but I don't enjoy two neutrals.

#9-10: February 14 (morning). Valentine's outfit for church. (Also my birthday, so I wanted to commemorate.) I love that dress; my first of the eShakti custom-fit knits. But wow, it makes my hips look WIDE. It's a full skirt, but I do well in those. Maybe it's the length? Or just my blindness, and I really do look like this? There's just something off about that second picture.

#11-12: February 14 (evening). Family birthday party! I wanted to be very comfortable, since the evening would probably include handling nieces (2.5 years and 6 months). Navy ponte dress, gray cardigan, pink scarf, Ecco boots. I think the cardigan, scarf, and boots were all discarded when I got to the house. ;)

#13-14: February 15. Dress in small plaid (black on red) with black trim, and tights and Chelsea boots. One of my more business-like outfits, though I wonder about the cutout. It's not revealing at all, but it might be a bit unexpected. The skirt is about as full as the solid red dress, but I think looks slimmer. Hmm.

#15: February 16. Green knit dress with black cropped cardigan, patterned tights, and ankle strap flats. The tights were not my preference with this outfit, but I was a bit desperate. I had a sore spot from the Chelseas and these flats were the next best choice. This is the same knit material as the red dress.

#16-17: February 16 (evening). Choir rehearsal. Linen knit top, jeggings, ankle strap flats. Birthday present necklace in rose gold.

#18: February 17. Spring's beginning! New skirt in pale sage green, plus navy semisheer "sweatshirt." I like the delicate mix of color and texture in this. I think it needs a re-wear; the sweatshirt's days are numbered until it's retired for the summer.

#19-20: February 18. Another warm day. This is actually a vibrant coral, not at all the cantaloupe it corrected to. Currently my favorite eShakti knit model, but I thought it would be more pink (see Find). I think next time I will customize with a shorter skirt and *not* custom shoulder-to-bust-point measurements. I'm a half measure there and it resulted in a little too much length, so the deep V gaps in this dress unlike the crane dress. I also didn't wear the sweater buttoned over it, except under my coat; I prefer it open for a bit less pinup vibe.
