I am not much of a buyer in general, but I did find when I was getting the (Australian) Ezibuy catalogue, that I would pick it up over and over and things would "grow on me" and I would end up wanting them. Summer on "Catalogue Lust" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/catalogue-lust#post-1442762 Sun, 15 Feb 2015 10:47:39 +0000 Summer 1442762@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Has this happened to you?  You go through your mail and come across an unsolicited, but appealing clothes catalogue, which you set aside while you get on with your day.  Later, coffee in hand, you start turning the pages, excitement mounting as you spot piece after beautiful piece that would work perfectly in your wardrobe; that seems just so "you" somehow.  Mentally, you start filling out your imaginary order form, until you have "bought" a good 50% of the items on offer. Then reality strikes.  Of course, you have a budget, and you can afford, at most, one or two pieces of the lower priced items, maybe a scarf or a top.  So you put the catalogue down, resolving either to abstain or just to buy that pretty scarf. Later on, going through your closet, you find some of those lovely things smiling back at you.  The colours may be slightly different, along with the styles, but you still have the essence of the lovely outfits that you were drooling over earlier.  Anything missing can be added to your list, and tracked down at a better price at the local stores or online. The moral of this story?  Always shop your closet first.
