This analytical approach generally works for me, especially to create a versatile capsule that can be mixed and matched for variety. (Btw thanks Bijou for referencing an old Angie post on capsules in another thread: a big help in that regard! 3 bottoms, 6 tops, 2 toppers and 2 pairs of shoes seem like a good set.)</p> <p>My usual moniker, ‘forties tomboy’, has intentional connotations of structure and formality that I want to soften during the weekend. So I came up with ‘soft tomboy’ as an alternative.</p> <p>Here’s some inspiration pics from style blogs, and two current casual outfits of mine that I like. All trousers based since that’s my preference for casual weekends, especially in fall/winter. I was surprised to find myself drawn to layering again – good, since that is immensely practical. There’s also a move towards more color, though still heavily grounded in neutrals.</p> <p>What do you think? Do you see/read ‘soft tomboy’ or do other words come to mind? </p>
