Why don't you try a long cascading cardigan or tunic shirt over the skinnies, Rute. I have a feeling that you'll be more comfortable with more coverage.

You're too hard on yourself, you look great. If I saw you on the street I would think "stylish and pulled together".

For the first one I think the vest hits a little high. Plus being an open vest it creates emphasis at the crotch level, which isn't the nicest looking area of skinnies for anyone! I have the same issue so I wear longer tops that go to the top of the thigh. I honestly still feel weird wearing skinnies to work, even with a long blazer. I love the belt, but did you try wearing the turtleneck untucked?

I agree that for the second outfit a more streamlined top might balance the looser jeans.

Ooh, ooh, how about switching the tops and jeans in these two outfits?

My first thought was to switch tops! Put the looser cardi and blue t-neck with the skinnies and the brown vest and t-neck with the looser jeans. Maybe it's the t-necks that are making you feel a bit frumpy? Try both sweaters with a scoop neck top or even a button down. I thought both looks were fine though. Maybe it was the lower angle of the camera but I personally don't like to have shirts higher than the crotch when I wear skinnies.

I think you look beautiful in both outfits! If you feel self-conscious in your skinny jeans, I'd do a longer top/tunic/sweater and maybe belt it with a wider belt to define your teeny waist. I like Queenie's idea of ankle boots too. Like Queenie also said, when I wear looser jeans on the bottom (bootcuts) I generally like to be a little sleeker on top.

Rute- I think that first outfit is beautiful- absolutely nothing wrong with proportions to me. I prefer to wear boots with my skinnies- the extra weight at my feet seems to balance things out- dont' you have a pair of ankle boots? Have you tried those?

I think for your second outfit, you'd feel more put together with a more fitted type jacket or cardi- since those jeans fit looser on your leg, I think you need a sleeker look up top.

I was checking my last photos to select some of my February outfits to show to you and I discovered that I have a big problem on casual Fridays...
I don't know how to dress casual, everytime a put jeans I feel frumpy and huge.
I have a skinny jeans I used twice and when I did I felt terrible.. I'm even embaraced to show you the first photo, the proportions are all wrong...
How can I style my skinnies? Well I know the theory, longer tops, but when I do, I feel they are not flattering (see photo 2).
