My very casual shoes include gray Cons, black Coach sneakers, pewter boat shoes, black Toms, stone Toms, flat pewter sandals, and a variety of Havaiana's flip flops. Some of these also work in the fall. Then I have a selection of 'smart casual' options.

I think you should definitely keep the gray sneakers and the white Cons. Both will work with a variety of casual looks.

You have the start of a fab casual shoe wardrobe here.

I find ballet flats extermely versatile and a crossover shoe in this category.

i like all of these. for me, i think that a casual footwear capsule should include a few "cross over shoes". i define that as something that works for saturday errands, but will also work with a more smart casual outfit. i think the black flats would work for both, but maybe there is room for another shoe similar to that, and maybe one less sneaker/moc style.

I love the cons with the laces, but that's because I love anything blue! I think you will get a lot of wear out of the gray leather shoes and agree that they will easily go into fall. I agree with Mia that a neutral ballet flat would be a nice addition.

My question is like Liz's. What are your needs? What do you use them for? Etc.

Looking at this, I realize that I still don't even have a casual shoe capsule -- and I work at home and lead a casual life!!

So...what I have for truly casual shoes is one pair of Ecco Jump Mary Jane type things, and one pair of Con mini-wedges.

That seems like enough for me, so far, because as soon as it is cool, I am in boots and booties. And while it is warm, I am in sandals, and I have a couple of relatively casual pairs.

But that is my needs and my life. I'm not out walking a dog (for example) or hanging out on somebody's boat, or chasing my kids in the park. I'm walking downtown, to the shops, the market, and the library. That kind of thing.

Well, my question is what is your reason for adding? Do you have a need for a large number of casual shoes? Are there some colors or styles you are having trouble matching?

Love #3, I have the same mini Tonka mocks, and they are fabulous. Thanks for giving me the idea of putting a capsule like this together for my fall winter what I call my other than dog training shoe and boot needs, or rather wants.

I do like the seibels in 3. Metallic boat shoe is great too.

What about a walking thong or sandal? I bought those red converse but returned. Even with an insole I could not get them comfy enough. Glad they worked for you.

I also get a ton of use out of my light coloured sporty ballet flats but may not suit your style?

What makes a great casual footwear capsule? When I joined YLF I realized that to up my WAH wardrobe I needed to add some casual footwear.

I am wondering what people have, how many, what works.

Currently (not including any sandals or boots) I have these items:

Pic 1: Black toms, Black sketchers, Red cons (I ended up sizing up and putting an insole in),Brown minnetonka
Pic 4: Sperry pewter, black flats

Now that I have discovered something beyond crocs and runners I am like a crazed shopping fiend.

I have purchased the following and wondering what if any I should add so these are K/R.
Pic 2: navy canvas docksiders.
Pic 3: grey leather josef seibel - these could work well into the fall which is a wardobe hole
Pic 4: white cons. they came with turq laces but I may replace them with white.
