Nodding with others that the fit is off here.

I think with a more structured jacket, the jacket itself will "fill in" for your sloping shoulder but this one emphasizes and even exaggerates the issue so that's the reason to let it go. Yet I can see how tempting it is because it's a lovely navy and a good knit jacket can be a workhorse item; plus, the price.

I'm actually wishing I'd ordered a red one. Hmm. Too late now.

Too big, agreed.
Though, if it were just a matter of being a bit " fluid," then it might work styled over more fitted top and pants.

it's a great color on you, but I agree that you need a smaller size. Because it's knit, it has little structure of it's own--a drapey woven blazer of this size might be able to provide structure on you, but this looks a bit shapeless. I hope a size small comes back in stock!

Thanks, all. It sounds like the consensus is that it is indeed too big. Especially since this one doesn't close anyway so I don't need it to fit over my hips or whatever. I'm going to keep an eye out for a small in navy. (Incidentally I've been thinking after
Una's recent thread that I might also tend to buy some of my clothes too big... )

Runs with scissors, that is so weird about the different colors being different sizes. I can totally tell in your photos that the red fits more trimly. I think you have height and stronger shoulders than me though so you can better pull off the slouchier fit of the navy. I wonder if it's color specific or just poor quality control? In any case I want the navy so I'm going to hope that it comes back in stock. I'll probably send this one back.

Donna, I find that most unlined knit Blazers don't work so well over long sleeves. But honestly I wear short sleeves or sleeveless more anyway so it's not a big deal. And I have plenty of other Blazers that fit fine over long sleeves.

I think it looks a tad bit big. I ordered the grey in medium, then the black came back in stock and I ordered that. It just came today. The grey fits a little looser than the black. I think I'm borderline but that a large would be too big. I'm thinking they will be useful for layering over sleeveless only? If the red comes back in stock I'd definitely get that. Are you going to try a small?

It's a little big, but for a knit blazer a slouchy fit can work. It depends on what you are going for, and what you want to pair it with.

FWIW, I bought the same blazer -- in blue, red and gray. Gray's not here yet, but the red is significantly smaller than the blue. I do like the fit of the red better but the slouchier fit for the blue is okay. I'll post pics of both when I get my NAS roundup together.

FWIW, in general I have found Caslon knit blazers to run a bit big, and I think this one is no exception. I also have a sneaking suspicion that this would stretch instead of shrink in the wash.

It does look a little loose, like a sweater fit. I guess a jacket would want to be on the fitted side. It isn't that it looks bad, but down a sizer might be more jacket-like.

I'm having second thoughts about the sizing of the Caslon knit blazer. This is a medium. The shoulders are a bit big - the seam hits slightly beyond my shoulder point, although I should point out that I have rounded shoulders so it's a little hard to define the shoulder point. The armhole is also a little deep. This all adds up to make the sleeve sit too low on my arm. I can easily shorten the sleeve (it's just folded up here) but does the fit in the shoulder and armhole look sloppy or too big? I'm not looking for super crisp or anything but I don't want it to look ill fitting.

It's kind of a moot point right now as the navy is sold out in all sizes, as is small in any color. But just curious what you think. It was cheap enough, and is super comfy, that I wouldn't mind keeping it as a cardigan alternative for more casual outfits.
