For future stains, try Nature's Miracle Just for Cats Orange Oxy Stain and Odor Remover. This will remove the stain of cat barf like nothing else. It took out a large barf stain (one I only discovered days after the incident since it was under a coffee table) on our deep pile white flokati rug. The stain had penetrated through the back of the rug. I thought that rug was a goner. I could not believe the results. I had to make a couple of passes, but it was well worth my effort, since my other solution was to cut out the stained portion, significantly reducing the rug’s size! The cleaner also has a pleasant odor unlike so many of the current Nature’s Miracle products.

Sorry to post and then take so much time to return! Thanks so much for you comments. I've been happy with Nature's Miracle products in the past so will give that a try. Vinegar always a good idea as well. And I'll get some oxyclean on hand too for more serious disasters. Meanwhile, our cleaners visited and the spots disappeared: I have no idea what they used, but bless them!

Yes to Nature's Miracle- though I've used vinegar and water too to clean up after our bullemic clowder :/ Despite them eating the same high end food all the time, not a day goes by ...

I find the pet stain remover thingies work well too, and I also forget the real name. My other thought is two rags, one under and the other to dab/press the remover through and the stain out.

I always used Oxyclean , or Arm & Hammer's special cat barf stain spray (can't remember the actual name of it, but that's what it was )

Hi all! We recently got a light grey wool rug for the living room which I love. (It even reminds me of one of my favorite sweaters: Find below.)

I thought I was being very clever since it is just about the same color as our cat's fur, which means I don't have to be after it quite so obsessively with the vacuum.

However, yesterday she had a bit of a yarf on it and it's left a feint shadow. (Wasn't thinking about that! She's a cat: it happens.) The rug is very textured, so brushing/rubbing isn't a great option.

Any recommendations for a spray-on spot cleaning product for wool rugs?

Thanks!
