My mother and one of my sisters have always worn those colors to death, and wore them together a lot. The really dusty grape-purple I've been given has been around the past few years, often in prints with black and grey, and I don't like the general feel of that color combination. I wore periwinkle ad nauseum back in the 90's and I'm kind of done with it. A lot of people can wear that color fairly well I think. It's true I can wear certain greens, as well as certain browns, but I have to be very, very careful they don't contain too much yellow, or they are death to my complexion.&nbsp;</p> <p>The other thing, which I've mentioned around the forum before, is that I associate some colors with certain seasons. Somewhere along the line, I decided I wanted as much of my wardrobe to be seasonless as possible, especially since I've been trying to upgrade it a bit. I want it to look good with black as well as white (I'm weird in that I don't like pairing a whole lot of colors with black, even though black supposed to "go" with everything). </p> <p>That leaves me pretty much with denim blue and my neutrals: charcoal,/black, ink/navy, taupe/khaki, and cream/white. Light and medium grey look okay with my skin and eyes, but I don't like it against the blonde streaks in my hair. Basic concept is that there are four seasons, but we can flow into the other three seasons.
