The problem with a shorter cardigan is that the waist of the dress sits higher than my natural waist and I already am quite short waisted! It has three quarter sleeves, so it seems to be not too long in the body from the way it looks in the picture. If the color turns out to be the way it looks like on my screen it should work. Soft colors work well on my light and neutral coloring and it doesn't look overly warm colored on my screen. I wouldn't wear this color head to do because the contrast would be too low, but I think it would work in the cardigan.
