I live in the desert, too. The temperatures were in the 50's a few weeks ago (that's when I decided to get pullovers) but are now back up to low 70's and it's supposed to snow on Sunday. (#1 shows a wool poncho/ruana and it's not a sweater, my other sweater is also a green waterfall, very similar to the one in #2 - shown below. I find sweaters and cardis, since I always wear with a layer underneath, can go for multiple wearings before needing cleaning. This makes the extra care they do need at cleaning worth it to me, when you factor in the length of time between cleanings. I know I live where cold days are few in number, but I like cardigans for the reasons she lists. As for pullovers, I just bought my only two this month on an impulse. I think one of the main reasons I don't have more is because they require more care. Often they need to be hand washed and almost always laid flat to dry. Photos below show my new pullovers from Nordstroms. One of my cardigans perfectly matches my green pullover. </p>
