I am petite, and my 90cm scarves always seemed to overwhelm me. But wouldn't you know: it seems Hermes also makes them in 55cm and 70cm. And other brands, too, of course. I'm with you on bracelets, which I own but rarely wear. I feel naked without earrings, and they can add color and movement to an outfit, and I likeep a co tasting watch as another small but cheerful element. That said I would wear each of these outfits with hesitation. Well, maybe just one or two buttons under the bust. They are for warmth. Frankly, they come off and on multiple times during the day.</p> <p>You hit the nail on the head why I don't like those outfits. The other way to make them work would be to add a scarf like in Maitai's picture book--such that the scarf actually becomes the main focus.&nbsp;Unfortunately, I have never been able to pull that off.</p> <p>I am really struggling with finding items--can you believe it? I love the print of the blue and gold blouse for example, but hate the cut--I prefer sleeves and an actual collar that wouldn't feel like I am being strangled.</p> <p>Bracelets are another problem. In general, I hate the way they move and add physical weight to my arm, and also, I have child-size wrists, so most are just too big. The two solid tops together have a bit less pizzazz. I would add the red bracelets to the outfit with blue top (6) and something with blue, gold or green to the one with red shirt. Just adding one touch of a complimentary color or tone in a print or sparkle could enliven the entire look. For me, with a more maximal style, I like adding a statement piece to each look, even my pared back looks will have an item with a touch of whimsy or point of difference. However, when basics are combined well, it is an effortless elegance.
