I posted this maybe 20 minutes before I went out, then decided to go with the outfit, because of the first couple comments. I made one change, based on <b>Toronto’s</b> mention of a column of color: I switched the scarf around so that instead of a swath across my front above a band of black, I had a vertical black band, with berry paisley from the scarf in either side, and then the jacket. All the rosiness, with added verticality. </p> <p>ChristeIJ and JAileen, thanks. I like “loud” b/w patterns, think there is kind of a built-in contrast between the vibrancy of the pattern and the calm of the neutrals. <b>Slim Cat</b> put her finger on another contrast in the skirt itself that’s probably a subconscious reason I like it. </p> <p>Kathie, you’ve got me pegged quirky, lively, aspiring to be fun and not fussy. </p> <p>Synne, thanks! I pulled these out of the “candy store” that’s my closet. I don’t think I’ve ever worn them, but when I got them 3 years ago, I figured their time would come. When I put them on, I was surprised at how much they made me smile. But I don’t think this outfit is quite right—between the hem and the boots, the choppy section of leg is just too short. What say you? </p>
